I’ve been here a few times & each time I’ve gone I saw a different tech. I do like the ambiance & everyone is polite & professional, but I stopped going once before for the same reason, but I decided I would give it another try since it’s close to home.
The same thing happens where the work is great & so I book a follow up. The follow up appointment is where I recognize the inconsistencies. I understand we all have an off day, but give me your best at every appointment. If my nails are flawless at visit one, then I expect the same at visit 2 & so on. Especially if I’m seeing the same person. I don’t get designs and rarely get color, so there’s not a lot of room for error that can be covered with a stone or some fancy flowers.
The last time I went, before the day ended, my no chip was peeling off of my nails & some had bubbles in them. I hadn’t done anything with my hands to cause that issue. I didn’t bother to go back because I had already waited longer than expected to be seen for my appointment & I was irritated with the way my nails looked. Maybe I would get consistent work from someone else, but after 4-5 visits, I’m over it.
There’s also the issue of having an appointment booked only to be told that someone else has to service me because the one I’m scheduled to see is busy with another client. That’s unacceptable to me! If u will work off walk-ins, fine, but in the service industry, appointments take priority. Regardless of what’s happening in the moment.
I’m sure others will argue they’ve had a great experience, & that mine was isolated or that the place is amazing yadda blah, but I’m also sure I won’t be going back.

I am a LICENSED nail tech in valpo always recommending my clients that need pedicures to come here, never will I ever do that again. I called on Sunday to make an appointment for that following day, Monday, and double checked with them to make sure it was open because it was a holiday, he reassured me that it would be open. The appointment was for 3 pedicures and we all came there separately and the salon was closed. I get not being licensed is one thing, but not being at the salon for three appointments is crazy.

This is a nail shop that is only about 4 minutes away from my house that I’ve come to love when it comes to the way they do my nails, my review isn’t about my nails it’s about who i suspect to be the owner.
Just recently , as always I get there early to wait for them to open on every other Friday specifically. Upon my arrival there was a Caucasian lady who rushed in before me (myself being African American) and upon her walking in the gentleman asks what she was getting done today , the lady tells him and immediately sits her down. Since they were just opening and it was another sitting , i decided to sit down and wait until noticed . The other sitting down was also asked what they were getting. After looking me up and down , like everytime I’ve been there lol he then asks me “Do you have an appointment?”
I answer no because of the fact that I’ve never had to make an appointment before except for the first time going there ,the past couple times I have not had to, I sit and wait for them to open and go and get my services. He then told me I have to come back later . I agreed but then called and cancelled because I had decided to just drive further to my original faves in portage,
I feel as if I was discriminated against. None of the other Caucasian women that I was near were asked if they had an appointment and still were serviced. After being looked up and down , refused service to , and basically brushed off as if i was less then. I stood by the door to make sure i wasn’t overthinking about the appointment thing. Another Caucasian lady walks in and the same happens , “what are you getting done today “ they told him and were immediately serviced without verifying the appointment.
I unfortunately will no longer be returning to this nail shop . Sucks because they do nails well.

Mediocre. The nail tech couldn’t do a couple simple flowers so they had someone else come and do it and it genuinely looks like a toddler did them. I tried explaining what I wanted, but eventually gave up because they wouldn’t listen. I like going and getting my nails done because it is relaxing but tbh this was anything but that. I felt rushed. I hated the stools they have because I couldn’t scoot closer to the table so I was sitting very awkwardly. I feel like they would be very hard to get in for older ladies. Overall, I’m not impressed and more than likely won’t be back. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars not 2 is because they include a paraffin wax with the manicure. Prolly the only thing I truly enjoyed.

Sad to say but the last 2x I've been there they rushed through the nail fill and the polish started chipping off within days. This actually has been the third time in total. So third time is the charm no more Cozmo nails for me.

First time at this nail salon and spa! Really liked it and my nails were done in 45 minutes! I received an acrylic fill and nice colors for Christmas! The salon owner Billy was my nail tech and really kind and courteous! Offered me water and had a candy bar for kids and guests. Even gave my daughter a juice box while she was waiting for me. Booked an appointment to go back in January for pedicures.

Mediocre experience at cosmo nails. The technicians are not very customer service oriented. They make you feel very rushed and are uninviting. I chose not to get gel on my toes and my choice was clearly irritating to the technician. I Paid for the deluxe pedicure which dried out the skin on my feet terribly. Not sure what type of chemicals are in the products they used, I would have asked if I felt like it wasn’t an imposition to speak to the technician about anything at all. My toe nails did come out looking nice and they didn’t cut the nails too short which was pleasing. Unfortunately the massage part of the pedicure was basically nonexistent. There’s nothing worse then being touched by a person who clearly resents you for having them touch you. Overall I felt that they were just there to over charge and could care less about customer service or experience.

i’ve been here quiet a few times but my last experience ruined it for me. i was getting a pedicure and full set for my wedding, and the lady doing my pedicure insulted my “toe nails” because i didn’t cut them right? and she laughed about it. pretty rude. then when she was doing my nails screamed at me because i wasn’t “steady” enough then yelled at me when one of my toes got a little messed up and she had to fix it. screamed at me to sit down, it was quite embarrassing on her end. i ended up telling her to not tell me what to do and chill because she was so out of hand. this was a few months ago, so i don’t remember much. but we left very unhappy and upset with her behavior.
