I applied on-line and received my account and routing numbers. On the site it said debit card would be sent or I could get one at the branch. After 10 days of waiting I went to branch and was told since card was enroute they didn't want to give a new card because would mess up .The manager never called back as he daid. Finally I called the 800 nber only to be told the account was closed. no card ever sent. Wow. They lied to me. II went to first source instead. I would never bank there.things.The

I've banked with them for years, but their customer service seems to get worse and worse every year no matter what branch you call/go to. Their call center is closed on Sundays with absolutely no chance of speaking to a real person, only a robot, even if your issue is extremely urgent. Even on days they are open, the phone number that most branches have listed is just the call center(which is automated and extremely annoying to navigate), which makes it incredibly hard to reach the actual branch. I'm extremely disappointed in how their customer service has declined.

Horizon Bank offers great service in their home loans department, but their credit card service would have to improve to be horrible. Recently, I had to lodge complaints with two state agencies to get any action on the "gift VISA cards" Horizon Bank sent me, and ended up losing over $150 in service fees to Elan Services (the card issuers) in fees, even though the cards would not work. I called customer service and was given the wrong information after four hours of working with them, and Horizon Bank refused to acknowledge me or the program after repeated notes to them. It's fine in a world of Black Lives Matter that this bank's board is lily white. It obviously represents the board's sense of community. However, to completely ignore customers and disavow themselves of a program they sponsor, costing customers hundreds and ignoring them compeltely -- is this the group you want as your bank? Dante would create a new level of hell for this customer service department. Avoid them at all costs

This bank preys on its customers with exorbitant fee's. We specifically called and requested that they stop allowing charges to go through automatic bill pay, yet they allowed it and charged a $37 NSF fee every time even though there was a mandate from the government that banks were not allowed to do this. Out of no where, for no reason they closed our business account which screwed up getting out SBA covid disaster relief loan. I asked the branch manager "what will the SBA do now that the account was closed without notice?" knowing damn well he was lying to get me off the phone he said "they will just send a check" The SBA CDRF does not send checks and as a bank, they know this. I do not and would not ever recommend this bank to anyone for any reason. We have filed a complaint with the board of governors of the federal reserve system and got correspondence back that Horizon is in fact in violation of fee standards, has practiced in unfair and misleading banking regulations.

Have experienced more problems with this bank than I have at than the bank at Walmart. Rude staff at this location, they dont listen. Horrible service, when I call customer service they are just as incompetent.

this is where I got my loan. Then I refinanced when rates dropped. I have never been treated so well. I use the branch on Calumet and they are the world's best. Small town bank that treated me like gold. Love these people.

I walked in to speak with a representative (I was the only customer inside with 3 representatives waiting to help). I told them I just moved in to town and therefore was not a member of the bank. I added that I had family visiting. My Father in Law asked me to break his $100 bill into $20s. The representative said she would not help me since I was not a member of the bank. I was obviously upset but thanked her anyway. With a lack of friendly customer service for someone new to town without a local bank, that's a perfect way to make sure my family and I will not bank with Horizon.
