“This review is long overdue 😊. In 2020 I rescued a very reactive and aggressive dog, Lola, who my husband and I loved with every bone in our body. It was very hard for strangers to get to love her due to the fear of getting bit. Dr. Carla and her team always showed love and respect to Lola in the best way she let herself be loved. Lola passed recently but up until her last breath, there was always a lot of support for us and our reactive baby. It brings tears to my eyes to know that Lola was loved by more than just my husband and me. A lot of times with her it felt like we were in an isolated island trying to protect everyone from her, but at the vet, I felt like I could put my guard down because they understood her and her traumas.

We now have the sweetest puppy, Mabel, and it’s been really heart warming to see the support and love they’ve already shown Mabel and us- even through my 100 questions and concerns I feel like I’ve had in the last two weeks!

Even from a training perspective, Amy was so patient and understanding with Lola and is now great with Mabel and helping me work through the fears instilled in me from having an aggressive dog. I did an individual session tonight to help me with some concerns I was having while we wait on puppy classes to begin, but it turns out it was mostly a therapy session for me to remind that Mabel is a good smart dog.

“Exceeds expectations with care, options given, price, and overall service. 10 month old lab had blockage from consuming something cordlike. Emergency visit uncovered he would need surgery to remove multiple blockages in stomach, intestines and ending up with pancreatitis from blockage. Brooke was informative with all options and possible outcomes. Brent came in to preform surgery on day off (with young kids in tow). The Sommers Team stayed hours after close to make sure dog was taken care of. Brooke help set up transfer to overnight stay for constant monitoring at EVCC in Mishawaka. I transferred him back early morning to Sommers, they kept him all day for monitoring and was able to come home that evening. They treated my dog like it was theirs. I would not hesitate to bring your animals to this vet for care.”
