On September 29, 2023, I had a check from Bankers Trust that they would not cash because the person who wrote me the check was not available over the phone to verify that they wrote the check even though I provided my driver's license to cash it, and because I didn't have an account with them. Evidently there is a limit where they have to verify that the check is legit. I asked what that limit is so in the future I don't have any issues if I want to cash a check, but they said they could not tell me the amount. I was considering opening an account with them, but after this forget it.Update: On October 3, 2023, I took the person who wrote the check to me with me to cash the check. They verified both our ids and then asked what size bills, and I requested large bills. They took a little time then said it would be a $5 charge to cash the check since I did not have an account with them. Are you kidding me?I am advising the person who wrote me the check to close their account with Banker's Trust, and find a bank that does not have such practices.

Tellers are not friendly at all. Went in to bank with my mom she wanted to sign a check over to me they refused. I've banked here for 12 plus years Altoona branch definitely not my favorite. Makes me want to switch to Veridian!

Bankers Trust in altoona on 8th street has the most amazing staff. They've helped me through lost and stolen cards, transferring accounts, and most recently a mix up with a cash order. I'm so thankful for the amazing and hardworking people there, as now I can afford an apartment despite my mixup. Thank you!

Banking Here for 20 years. The people are great, very friendly. it does bother me that when i call almost always i am on hold for 3-5 minutes before i even hear a live person. Also they don't offer programs to help young adults start credit. Overall I will continue to bank because of the staff and the pain it would be to switch.

Moving from Windsor Heights Bankers Trust to Altoona was the worst mistake! I have banked with Bankers Trust for over 18 years and have never had so many problems. Physically went into the bank to pay off my credit card and they were not able to tell me how much was charged, so I paid more than I should have. Then three days later still seeing they have not received a payment. When I called to see if something was in error they said they have not received any form of payment! This branch has many miscommunication problems. Save the time and hassle don't bank here!

I've been with Bankers Trust over 15 years. I have great credit. When I went for a home loan in 2011 they tried to hit me at 6.75%. I ended up going through Wells Fargo at 3.50. Just an example of how they nickel and dime you every chance they get. Also the institue a new fee every 6 months. Want to have a debit card, use it they way they want or they'll charge you 7-14 dollars a month. Just got a letter that says unless I go paperless statements they charge 5 dollars a month. Unless I'm over 55. What? Why does my age matter. I'm leaving for the credit union at the end of the month.
