Went here on 6/11/23. I believe I got scammed. Went to go buy a necklace, I gave the lady 13.50 (my total was 13.23) and she said I owe her more money, that should have been my first red flag. Anyways, I gave her my money but she never gave my my necklace that I paid for. I stood there waiting for her to give me my necklace but she told me to have a good day to which I walked away confused because there was people behind me waiting to check out and I thought we’ll maybe she did give me my necklace but nope! I have looked everywhere and I never got the necklace I paid for. She even removed the tag on the necklace. I’m very upset about it and I will not come back.

So many beautiful stones and gems, it’s hard to decide what to buy. Sometimes they crack geodes during festivals. Cool fossils to choose from!

Went in for the first time on a Saturday, and it was so awesome. I could have spent hours looking around, but had 7 friends we were with, they had moved on. So my boyfriend let me go back on Sunday. Picked out lots of beautiful crystals. The lady who was the cashier was so nice and had a fun personality. She was quite knowledgeable. I will definitely be checking out the website.

So I bought a turtle shaped green aventurine stone a year ago as a gift. That's was 12.99. It was small but cute.I came to found out that it was fake. How? Well 3 methods to found out if stones are fake. Number 1. Lighter test. I tested this with REAL green aventurine and it did not burn to black soot. And it wasn't blazing hot. The FAKE one burned black and was piping hot. Thats not a real stone or gem. 2. Stones don't scratch as easily. This one did. 3. They shouldn't chip easily. We can be clumsy and they can fall. But they don't chip easily. Some do but not the aventurine. If I wanted a knock off, I could've bought it on Amazon. So beware what you buy. Also very overly priced. The local shops in CR and Iowa city don't over charge like they do. They claim its authentic but really they're not. Super frustrating about this. It was a gift and for it to break...was a cheat.

Went to go do gem mining. My son (who loves fossils) was excited to do the blue fossil gem bag. He was super excited, but not screaming. Young man working told him he “needed to chill”. We stop and buy something every time we are in town there. Never again. It seems like in 2021, kids who are excited about fossils are your key demographic. Why would you do that to him?

We go to The Amana Colonies and look especially forward to visiting the Noble Stone. Their prospecting river is amazing and very fun. All my kids love going and getting rocks. The Noble Stone has beautiful stones and amazing fossils! They have an entire tortoise fossil! This store is worth making the drive to The Amanas!
