We used Adam's moving 13 years ago to move across Iowa and again yesterday to move across Ames. Both were excellent experiences.
They are great folks, polite, professional and easy to work with.

Used this service to pack/load my moving truck. After they left, I noticed they severely bent the bottom of a bannister in my house at the top of my stairs and then had obviously put it back in a way to try to hide it. I would have been less upset had they disclosed this to me. They were fast, but this incident reduced my rating to a 1-star.

Adam's Moving is a phenomenal moving company. We needed some medical equipment moved from a clients home fairly quickly and they were able to schedule it within a few days. Moving staff were very accommodating and careful with items. Great moving company, I definitely recommend this company for your moving needs.- Visiting Angels

Highly recommend. The crew took the stress out of moving, they move so fast we had extra time to move A LOT more then what we thought. They brought boxes for clothes, moved our treadmill, were on time and very efficient.

This is a strong recommendation, as Adam's Moving was exceptional from start to finish in our complicated moving experience involving an elderly parent. We appreciate John a great deal, as his communication and professionalism was elite throughout.
Moving is angst-ridden, and it has a tendency to beat you up emotionally. John removed all of that with his kindness. He and his staffer (Lincoln) were terrific. We had no hiccups throughout.
We will not hesitate to use Adam's Moving again if the need arises.

My family is so grateful for Adam's! The mover we had lined up cancelled on us at 8 pm the night before moving day. Coincidentally, I had just talked to John from Adam's earlier in the day about moving a piano. He was very friendly over the phone, so in a panic we gave him a call to see if there was any slim chance they could take on our entire move the next day. AND THEY DID. I don't know how we got so lucky, but they were tremendous! I think we had way more to move than they anticipated, but they worked into the evening without complaint. They were super friendly and took good care of all of our belongings. We'd hire them again in a heartbeat!

They were courteous and handled everything with care but left behind a few important items and brought a small trailer despite knowing that they were moving a 4 bedroom townhouse. I ended up paying double what I expected. 2 other moving companies I’ve used charged half and left nothing behind. Thanks for doing the heavy lifting though?

just had to walk thru the flower beds to get by them, as they blocked the walk, drive, & 1/2 the street. pro would have detached trailer, also ticketable in ames to block the sidewalk. Please be considerate.

Leon is fantastic. We had a unique situation, being out of state and in a pinch. Leon helped move my son's stuff out of his dorm room and into storage for us. His fees were very reasonable and his service was top notch. After receiving my bill, I had a question, and he made an adjustment to my favor. Super friendly. I will go with Adams next time we need help moving anything in Ames!

Adams Moving charges $150 per hour per person with a two-hour minimum. They do not charge for drive time but they deduct the drive time from the number of hours booked. This includes the time it takes for them to drive back home.They do a free estimate in advance. If they cannot get everything moved in the amount of time booked, they will leave it undone. Retired military and off-duty police. If they say they will help, they will show up. They may require you to wire them money in advance (wiring money costs a fee from both banks so may add an additional $50+ to the cost). They may ask to be paid in cash at the end of the job and will provide a receipt. They have insurance and are bonded. They worked quickly and efficiently. They were very good about keeping track of their time. They made certain the storage units were packed neatly and made it easy for me to get to things. The least expensive way to work with these (or any) movers is to pre-pack everything yourself. Sort through your things and sell, donate, or throw everything in advance so you don't pay to move stuff you don't want. The more you are prepared, the faster your move will go. It will also cost less. In general, a move often takes longer than you think and costs more than you anticipate. Best to find friends who can help you pack and prepare in advance. Two other movers said the were coming and didn't show; I appreciate the guys at Adams actually showed up.

The two gentlemen that assisted with our move were extremely friendly and hard-working. They stayed longer than we had anticipated and were a pleasure to work with. We will definitely be hiring Adam's Moving for any future relocations!!
