I would implore Freedom Tire owners to invest in more help for its Ames staff. Dropped my vehicle off for an oil change and tire rotation. Stood at the front desk for a couple minutes and no one. Heard some paper rustling in an office so walked back to say I was there for an oil change. Told to wait and someone would be there eventually. Finally someone showed up and I asked roughly how long to do the service? Was told an hour or two. Left and called back two and a half hours later. Told the vehicle was ready but the person was too busy to call. Lastly, sticker for next service was never replaced. Owners, your workers are obviously swamped. Help them.

We had a situation with my wife's car losing power and stalling which several other mechanics in other shops had been unable to diagnose. The mechanic at Freedom Tire told us to bring it and he'd fit in in. It was only a couple of hours before he called us to say a chimpmunk had made a bed in our air intake out of the filter and also destroyed a sensor. It was only a few hours later and the car was fixed. New customers for Freedom Tire!!!!

I can't say enough good about the folks at Freedom Tire!! With both daughters going to ISU, I have worked multiple times with them. Over the last few years, I have put on a set of tires, a complete brake job and numerous oil changes. Today I was moving one daughter 4 hours away to start her career post ISU. We picked up a nail and had a flat right before we were ready to head out. Under the circumstances, they worked us in early and got us back on the road!! It is amazing to find a business these days that always goes the extra mile. Parents, you can trust these great folks with taking care of your family when you can't be there!!! What more can I say, but THANK YOU!!

Freedom Tire promises to take care of their customers like family, and they really do just that! Always helpful, professional, and no pressure. A different shop recently tried to prey on my ignorance to charge me thousands of dollars for the wrong fix. Freedom Tire saved me from wasting that money and prolonged the life of my vehicle with a thorough inspection and a much smaller fix. Their honesty and integrity has earned them life long customers in both myself and my fiancée!

Quality of work is decent, but their prices can be rip off and probably among the costliest I've seen in Ames!I was given a quote of something like 800, which I eventually fixed for ~250 from a different place! But I also had a tire change from them before that at a reasonable price before. I'd recommend checking those prices/quotes ahead of your work to avoid surprises.

I'll give 5 for the mechanics. Top notch so far. 2 substantial jobs and 1 minor. You can kind of tell when someone gives a darn.
