The worst property management in Ames. MTR stands for most trashy rentals

I have never rented from anyone so disrespectful and unprofessional. Nate was very rude and disrespectful. When my home was having pest and bug problems I called him twice asking for information on how he would be able to help me. Both times he was unable to give me the information I needed about exterminators and solutions. He said that the exterminator would deal with the problems in a week and after asking for specification about details, he simply said "They will get there when they get there" and the second time I called he hung up on me.I then went to explain my situation to him at the Rent Ames location in Ames after getting hung up on where I asked him how he would be able to deal with the pest problem seeking at least some details on my situation. I asked to speak to someone else since he was being very disrespectful on the phone and I was not receiving the help I needed from him. He then proceeded to laugh in my face, call me crazy and irrational and asked me to leave his office leaving me more confused and with bugs still in my complex.

I was a tenant of Rent Ames from August of 2021 through July of 2023. Rent Ames did a fantastic job taking care of my needs. In addition to a spotless, fully-functioning apartment upon my arrival, the team responded in a timely manner to any questions I had. Maintenance was consistent and notice of any maintenance appointment was received well in advance. In addition, EVERY member of the team was courteous and friendly, which made interaction very easy (also for my dog). I highly recommend Rent Ames if you are looking to reside in Ames or elsewhere.

I have never rented from anyone so misleading. Nate was very rude and disrespectful when I asked him questions about what was previously stated to me about the deposite fee. I had a cat so I had to pay an animal deposit fee for $200 plus an additional amount per month. They promised that I would receive my animal fee separately from the original deposit but instead they used the fee to pay for cleaning charges at the end of the lease. (My cat lived there for a few months and did not do any damage to the house.) They did not split the charges equally amongst the cosigners but instead proportionally by amount paid; they took the charges out of the animal deposit plus my deposit. They basically paid the whole charge with my account because I paid more in deposit due to my animal, but lied to me about it.

Good communication, fast maintenance response, although my closet door fell off at the beginning of my lease and maintenance did exactly what I did to try and fix it and left and it fell off again. Not great at taking responsibility, but they will work with you on making things right. Feels like I can’t listen to music without getting a knock on my door, not sure if it’s just the people or if the walls are truly paper thin. The building is quite, which is nice, but I like music!!! Also, I’ve never met any of the property managers, which I think is strange, but overall they’re okay.

Great communication! Nate responds to emails in a timely manner and sends maintenance within the day. Maintenance is very friendly. Building was cleaned once a week. Storage room is very convenient. Warned many days to a week in advance before entry. Would definitely recommend RentAmes over Campustown Properties!! You will NOT find a better service then RentAmes that is close to campus. Location is supreme.

For the short time I was with them, I got nothing but the best from them.

I have had the best experience with Rent Ames. They respond timely to emails/questions/concerns and any time we have had to put in a maintenance request we always have things fixed very quickly. Anytime someone is wondering who to rent from I always recommend Rent Ames.

The management here is terrible. Can never get out of the parking lot after the snow. The walls are like PAPER THIN! Just watching TV or listen to music at a normal volume and you get a noise complain! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!!

Rent Ames has been an amazing property company thus far, and this is coming from someone who moved yearly in a large city for five years. They are very accommodating, and fix any problems in a timely manner.
Both the property managers answer emails quickly and effectively. The property is well maintained, adorable even. They are also an amazing deal for apartments so close to campus. Don't forget the high speed internet. That's amazing too. I will stay with Rent Ames as long as I have an apartment in Ames.

When I first leased an apartment with this company, it was under a different name and had a different property manager. Nate replaced the former proper manager and it has drastically gone downhill. The maintenance people are all lovely, but Nate uses classic gaslighting to make you feel like you have no right to complain about things that any reasonable person would complain about. I will not be renting from this company ever again.

We rented a house for almost 3 years and Rent Ames was amazing to have as a landlord! We had several things go wrong (Dryer broke, ceiling fan/light died, A/C died) but it was an older house and that was kind of expected. Rent Ames was there to fix or replace it right away! Everyone we worked with was friendly and we had no problems getting a hold of them if anything came up. If I ever was to rent in Ames again I would try and find a property managed by them.

Do not use rentames. They are a terrible property management company. Especially Nate. He ripps off students at every chance and overcharges for minor damages. Id rather live in a shack (and i mean this) then sign another lease with this unprofessional and absurd "property management company".
