I am very disappointed in the choice of music that has been recently playing while in the beds....I understand tanning is directed at the younger group....however as someone not in my twenties....this music is vulgar to say the least....WOW!!Service: Tanning

Great fun smart people who know their stuff about products the different tanning beds and spray tans and how each person is different and help them with a personal system for them. My first time spray tan a few days ago. It was so fun and my tan. Like wow perfect. Everyone noticed it and looks so natural. I'm gonna keep going.

Lots of beds, little wait time

Waited an hour and a half for a bed to free up. Staff couldn't figure out if I had been skipped over or if they just didnt put me on the list. Very disappointing, been coming here for over a year and expected better service.Edited: Staff got a hold of me and were very nice about what happened. I appreciated the gesture.

My 17 year old daughter has been going to Sun Tan City on Mortenson to even out her tan lines before getting her senior pictures done. She has felt that the only positive experience she has had was the very first experience of signing her up for a membership. On one of her first trips, she visited with one of the employees and asked about an oil she could use while in the tanning bed to help even out her tan lines. The employee did, I’m sure, exactly as she has been trained to do - she talked her into two products by telling her that she would receive a 25% discount if she bundled the products together. None of the products have the prices listed. The employee rang up my daughter’s purchase and told her that she had saved $30 on the products and the total was $92. My daughter was shocked at the price, but with her lack of experience she went ahead and purchased the products. She used the products while in the bed. When she got home she decided to look up the prices of these products online. The total for the products at an online salon store was $62. Then as she was looking at those she read the product description for both products - one of them was a primer for spray tan (she is doing the tanning bed) and the other was a bronzer. At this point she came to me and asked me to help. I called the store and explained the situation and asked if my daughter could return the products. I was told there would be no problem. The following day when my daughter went in to return the products she was told that because she hadn’t returned them the same day she purchased them she would not be able to get her money back. At this point my daughter is feeling as though the people in the store are taking advantage of her young age. She asked me to come in and talk to them. This morning when I arrived, I explained the situation to the store manager. She told me the same thing my daughter had been told - if she had returned them the same day there would not have been an issue. I explained that within one hour of her being in the tanning bed I had called and been told there would be no problem returning the products. No mention was made that the return needed to be the same day. I told the manager that my daughter felt as though they had taken advantage of her age. The manager called her manager and that manager gave me the same response - if she had made the return the same day. They also tried to blame it on Covid and the sanitation of taking back the product. At one point the manager told me that buying these products is like buying a car - once you drive it off the lot you can’t take it back. Well here is another reason it is like buying a car - there is no transparency on price and they have taken advantage of the young and uninformed for their own gains. If you have a teenage daughter thinking about tanning - DO NOT SEND THEM TO SUN TAN CITY. They prey on their naivete and will take advantage of them.

Ames salons are neglected and run-down, you’re not getting your money’s worth with beds that are in way worse condition than other locations. Employees were nicer than what I’ve seen at other locations though.

I have been a customer for 3 years and have always been satisfied with their service up until recently. I am generally a patient person, but lately the wait times have been a little excessive. Every time I have came into the salon, I have witnessed tanning consultants skip customers to tan their coworkers. This has not only happened to myself, but I have seen it happen to others as well. I pay for their instant membership and generally I switch between fastest 2-3x a week. I had a TC suggest that I go into the Faster bed even when the Instant was clearly open. I believe that I understand what she was trying to do, but I would expect as someone that pays for their highest membership that it would not be a problem for me to tan in the bed I am paying for. I would highly advise that they get some education on customer service. This place used to be excellent with this and now it seems that they are only interested in selling product.
