Got trans, brake, and coolant fluids changed. Was done quickly and at a very reasonable price! Didn’t try to upsell me anything and used genuine parts. Best place in town!

I can't recommend this place enough! The owners are incredibly down to earth and genuinely good people. Services were reasonably priced and they didn't try to add on or charge me for on anything unnecessary/extra. You might have to wait a little bit for an appointment depending on what you need, but it's definitely worth it!!

They've been highly professional and have done great work on some difficult/not easy to immediately diagnose issues. Their prices are also very reasonable as well!

In my opinion, they've been straight-shooters with decent prices. Trustworthy and reliable.

I just had a water pump replaced on my SUV. Wheelock's gave me exactly what I want from a mechanic: fair prices, no upselling, work done right and on time. Highly recommended!

I am no longer able to keep track of all of the money and hassle Wheelock's has saved my family. We are on a tight budget and drive older high mileage cars. Starting from the most recent; '06 Lexus ES330, dealer wanted 1350 to replace valve cover gasket; Wheelocks did it for 485 and threw in a spark plug replacement (back 3 plugs are hard to get to) for another 200 (dealer wanted 600). Dealer misaligned my oil drain plug fixit kit on '11 Honda CRV, then wanted 1500 to replace the whole oil pan; Wheelocks fixed it for, wait...no charge? Dealer wanted 1250 to replace A/C clutch & coil for the Honda; Wheelocks did it for 750 and replaced the whole unit, not just those parts. A major tire dealer in Ankeny wanted an extra 740 from me while replacing tires so they could also fix idler arm, etc. on an old Chevy van we had; Wheelocks checked it and it was bogus (not necessary). Dealer wanted 500 to fix left outer tie rod and right inner ball joint for our on '03 Yukon; Wheelocks fixed for 250. I could keep going here, including times when they've just put the hood back down and said just drive it. People, this stuff adds up over time. Truly thankful to have a service like this in Ames.

We broke down while on vacation, with a flat tire due to a broken wheel liner dragging on it. We were towed in to Wheelock's at 4:30. We were on the road with a used tire and trimmed wheel liner by 5. Vacation saved! Thank you, Wheelock's!
