Lake Anita State Park is a scenic and top tier park in the rolling hills of southwest Iowa, close to Interstate 80. It features a 170-acre lake with fishing, swimming, a clean beach, and many docks. The campground has many campsites overlooking the lake with gorgeous 360 views. It offers a 4-plus mile paved multi-use trail with outstanding views and lots of wildlife, as well as a trail to the town of Anita. The park is tidy and well-maintained, with clean restrooms, showers, and facilities. It is pretty quiet and relaxing, with friendly staff. Reservations for camping are recommended during the summer, and picnic shelters are available for rent.

This was just going to be a stop over. Wow! what a beautiful state park. The lake is gorgeous, there is a paved path that goes around the lake that we one wheeled around. Shower housed are top notch. Sites are level with views of the lake. We saw many deer and I was able to capture one in my video. I would definitely stay... read full comment

Very nice park. One of the best taken care of parks we have visited in years. Grass is mowed, no bugs. The bathrooms are clean, fishing was great. Definitely recommend camping at this park.
