I just opened a checking and savings at the Ankeny location. I thought Debbie was great! She was kind, helpful and extremely patient with me. I appreciate that.

Staff is always very polite and welcoming. I have been banking there a few years now and have had zero problems.

rude and disrespectful staff. i stopped in this bank today to open an account and was sent by the teller to the cubicle of a woman named debbie who, after collecting my personal information and looking over multiple forms of government issued ID, informed me that there was a "discrepancy" with my social security number and that the bank needed to wait to hear back from their compliance department before issuing me an account. while it's hardly unusual to encounter "discrepancies" with personal info in the modern digital age we find ourselves in, what i found rather unforgivable was the lack of any sort of an apologetic tone on debbie's behalf or reassurance that the problem would be taken care of. instead she stared at me like i was some sort of criminal or fraudster. "you'll have to take it up with the social security administration sir." i use my social security number all the time without any problems everywhere else besides this one particular bank. i had a valid passport, concealed carry permit, social security card, state issued drivers license and every other form of ID under the sun with me, so i think i deserved a better attitude from these folks. even assuming that the bank's compliance department gives them the go-head to open an account for me, i believe i'll be taking my business to a bank that treats customers with a bit more respect
EDIT: i just got a call from the branch manager. apparently the cause for the "discrepancy" was that debbie herself entered my name backwards into their computer system. unbelievable! imagine doing your job wrong and treating a customer as if it's somehow their fault. for what it's worth, the branch manager was polite and professional but i'm still taking my business elsewhere

I came in here today to exchange a $20 bill, as it was really damaged. I've never had to do this before, but had heard banks can accept damaged bills and replace them. It took a bit, as the bill was so badly damaged. They then send it in to have it verified that it's a real bill or not. Friendly staff. Lot parking. I'm kinda surprised there were TWO financial institutions right next to each other.

Signed up for a checking and a savings today in the ankeny location. Karen B is who set me up. She was very kind and made it simple to open and be on my way. I’m looking forward to banking with them! Thanks Karen.

Great bank but they should have customer service on weekends. Has an issue with the card and basically didn't have any money until Monday.

Great to work with for any type of loan. Switched over to Availa when the Ankeny branch opened and couldn't be happier! The ladies at the teller window are very kind, the officers are easy to work with and answer any question thoroughly in a timely manner. Highly recommend and have recommended Availa to multiple friends and family. You've got a life time customer now. Thank you!

They were able to do a construction loan at the height of the pandemic as well as process my company's payroll protection forgivable loans. Really appreciate it.
