I love Menards variety of things in the store. However, I think the lumberyard staff could improve a bit. I bought a bunch of mulch several times to be loaded in my car. I asked the guy at the guard shack to call someone to help me. Twice someone came but the other two times I had to load it by myself. The time it was loaded with a forklift and by hand by the worker, most of my bags had holes. It spilled out in my car, staining the seats. When I load it myself I watch for holes. I think the forklift punctured some and the other guy didn’t pick the holeless ones like I do. It was a bummer when I got home and it spilled all over the driveway. Please tell the workers that these bags dont take forklift tines well by just pushing it through. I have to find a soap that will remove the brown dye from my car cushions now.

This was probably my worst Menards experience at any location I've been to.
I rarely leave poor reviews, but my recent experience at Menards was frustrating enough to warrant one. The complete lack of customer service was unacceptable. Not a single associate was available to help or even provide basic direction. I was told the item I needed was in the yard, but once I got out there, I was completely on my own — no guidance, no signage, and no employees anywhere in sight.
After wandering around, I eventually found the product — but it was on the second tier of the racking system. As a customer, I should not have to climb onto a pallet of materials just to try and reach the top of another pallet sitting on a high shelf (approximately 10 feet). Not only was this unsafe, it left me in a vulnerable and potentially dangerous situation, all because no one was available to assist.
This isn’t what I expect from a major retailer. Customers shouldn’t be left to fend for themselves in what feels more like a construction zone than a shopping experience. Menards needs to seriously address their customer service and on-site support — before someone gets hurt.

BUT...Not the best experience yesterday. Had to return an item that didn't fit project. The young CSR gal was very snotty, rude and not helpful in the simple process (interrupted her cell phone time at the CSR desk). Definitely not someone who should be working in customer service w that attitude and work ethic. 😟

Had to come here twice to pick up 20 bags of top soil for a construction project. Garden center doors are not open in the middle of May. Had to walk across the store twice in 1 day with a cart full of dirt. Definitely not short staffed either.
