I am a local home builder in the Des Moines area for the last 20 years and have been doing business with Moehl for a long time.
They have a couple of very good salesman there however people in their administration like the credit department’s Leeann Segrue are super unprofessional and rude. She took upon herself to manipulate my account and apply credits without my authorization. She then had the audacity to argue about it. Her boss Katrina Crouch isn’t any better as she supports that behavior.
Additionally, their returns and deliveries have been a nightmare. I would not recommend moehl as your supplier and I no longer do business with them.

Customer service when you have an issue is terrible. Went directly to the manufacturer and got immediate help. We have been waiting on Dirk at Moehl for over 4 months.

Can not recommend! Avoid. We were paired with this company by our local Lumber yard, Spahn and Rose of Dubuque. We purchased a quite expensive front door unit from them that we had designed. In less than 4 years of living in the house, we are now replacing the second Corner transom glass piece. See pictures. Despite the fact that I purchased the door from Moehl Millwork, they are contending that I have to work with the company they subcontract with that produces transoms for these type of doors. Despite the fact that now BOTH Corner glass pieces have fractured in cold weather, they contend that it is not their responsibility. So now I have a Millwork company who I paid for a door, who says it is not their responsibility, and I have their subcontractor stating it is not their responsibility, so the bottom line is despite the fact that there was a manufacturing error, neither company is willing to stand behind their product and the cost of the error is being passed on to the consumer. As much as I would normally love to support a local business, I cannot support a business who will not stand behind their products. Despite the fact that I bought a door with a lifetime warranty, that lifetime warranty only applies to the door itself and nothing around it apparently.

Should tell your drivers to stay off there phone so they don't get honked at while sitting at a green light then proceed to drive 10 mph under the posted speed.

Not a great place to work. Very heavy lifting because of the greed of the wealthy. Hope you are very strong and have good ankles, and don't mind getting your shoulder sockets pulled from place, and risk blowing your back out. They work fast, break the law to get things done, and treat you very badly. Some of the worse language I've ever heard in my entire career.

Dealt with them for about 5 months trying to get 4 new exterior doors bought and installed in a newer house, multiple phone calls not returned, Finally sent a guy out to measure Andy I belive, then no call back for another month, I contacted there Manager he said they let that guy go (but I found out they didn't) he put another guy on my job his name was Dirk, that guy said he had to come out and re measure everything, then multiple appointment cancelations just 20 to 30 minutes before the set time, after about 4 or 5 of those that last appointment was a no call no show !! Obviously there were thousands of dollars of doors to install and there management didn't even care !! I Just can't understand the work ethic of people now days !! Wasted allot of my time for months what a Headache !!!! If I could give less than one star I would !!!!
Notice in the Reviews you have to go out at least 2 years to find a good one, company going down hill fast !!

I am a local homebuilder to the area and have been working with Danielle in the cabinet department for a little over 5 years. Danielle is incredibly knowledgeable, very helpful, and just a great person to work with all around. One of the first things we do as a custom homebuilder is have our clients meet with Danielle to go over their cabinet selections. Through hundreds of these design meetings one thing that I hear over and over is how great my clients experience was with Danielle for their cabinet selections. They alway tell me how fun, happy, and knowledgeable she is. It gives me great peace of mind knowing my clients are in good hands!
From the building side, Danielle is always on top of everything for us, through communicating lead times, ensuring the cabinet measures are done perfectly for our rough in crews, and taking care of us if items come damaged, Danielle always makes sure the job runs smoothly and efficiently. I would give her my highest of recommendations for anyone looking to get new cabinets for their home or building new!

Danielle has been absolutely wonderful to work with. She knocked our design colors, material, and selections out of the park. Thank you for your exceptional service.

I've hung thousands of doors and I must say Moehl has the absolute worst prehung door builders I've ever seen. Completely twisted jambs, Clay coat chips, bowed panels, offset door stops, half mortised jambs/panels, hinge screws stripped, hinges upside down, bowed heads, the list goes on and on. If there is a possible issues a door can have Moehl surely will deliver you there worst. I don't have these issues with Gilcrest.

Attempted to go in to view the showroom today and was advised that they couldn’t accommodate it because it was by appointment only, a recent change they made. That showroom is massive and even following CDC guidelines more than the allowed two groups could maintain 6 feet apart.
It does not say the appointment need anywhere on their website, copied details below. When I advised that it was a 2 hour drive just to see their showroom, they clearly didn’t care or attempt to find a time to get us in. Horrible customer service.
Copied from their website:
Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:00am-4:30pm or by appointment
