If you’re wanting to expand your friend group, Prairie Point gives you so many amazing opportunities to do so. With events hosted by the staff (such as the Thanksgiving lunch, or cook out in the parking lot). Walking through your building and meeting your neighbors or simply just walking around the complex has led to me making many life long friendships.

Prairie pointe is a great place to live especially as a student at DMACC! The apartments come furnished and the staff is always quick to help when needed. Super friendly area and glad that I chose this place!!

This place is a great location for DMACC students, just across from campus. In addition, it is within walking distance of the District, which is a great place to have fun! Prairie Pointe is also full of great staff that are super friendly.

If you are a concerning parent and you don’t want your kid going out and partying or drinking, then this is NOT the place for you. 90% of the people here do nothing but party and do stupid things. And the staff does not care about your well being at all. It takes three weeks or more for them to act in service requests and they don’t give good quality repairs to appliances. Would definitely not recommend.

I am extremely happy with Prairie Pointe! Its location is super convenient as it is within a good range of campus, grocery stores, restaurants, and other entertainment facilities! The office staff is quick to help and are kind to the residents here at Prairie Pointe. Maintenance completes tasks quickly and efficiently, ensuring that the apartments are well kept and in good condition. Moreover, navigating ActiveBuilding to pay rent is easy and accessible. I would recommend Prairie Pointe to anyone considering DMACC in Ankeny.

If you’re going to DMACC, want to be close to school, and just need a decent and nice place to live, go to Prairie Pointe. I honestly think the low star comments are entitled people. This is 10x better than living in a dorm in the same bedroom and bathroom with no laundry! I was stressed looking for a place to live and this was the best option compared to the other apartment options.PROS:-You get your own bedroom and bathroom with a nice large desk- Laundry right there in your apartment-very close to campus-The gym (great equipment and I love using it often)- I think I got lucky with my roommates. We are so close with each other and I love them! We have made our apartment homey and if we don’t wanna socialize, we can just go to our rooms!-nice kitchen and living for student living-you meet so many new people and make new friends!-Next to the district and I even go on walks over there as there is a pondAnkeny is going to be expensive no matter what and this is cheaper than most of the apartments you’re going to be looking for.I still honestly think rent is a high for no reason considering all the maintenance we always call for (water heater and broken faucet) BUT maintenance came super fast and got it fixed! There’s also a little damage and wear to the apartments, but it really depends on which apartment you get.CONS-there will sometimes be a lot of noise outside from college kids yelling, parties, and upstairs neighbors, but what do you expect? It’s student living.-the walkways are usually kind of nasty with litter and spilt alcohol, but nice once I walk into my apartment I guess.-the walls are kind of thin-I still think rent needs to be lowered because if you’re paying $600 a month split between 4 people….thats $2400 for this apartment…there’s NO WAY this place is worth that…so i think it needs to be lowered, especially since these are college students who can’t hold a full time job and have to get loans, honestly ridiculous!

living here is so nice. spacious bedrooms and your own bathroom. The apartments are really close to campus which I really like. The only downside is that it can get pretty noisy.

have had a great experience living at Prairie Point! I have been living here for less then a year and could go on and on about the great things about it here! They have a fitness center, coffee counter and other perks! I also love that they give you gift cards at random times during the year even by just renewing your lease!

I hope others pay attention to this review. I would not recommend having your son/daughter live here. If you do, video everything regarding the apartment upon move in (you will be happy you did). I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in regards to their business practices involving their check-in and check-out procedure, especially those who may have roommates with different leases (10 vs 12 month), lack of communication regarding final account statements with additional charges and the inability to provide additional documentation regarding those charges. Renters be aware.

Very noisy, staff isn't super helpful, states in lease agreement we can pay by check, but now they're making us pay online... breaking the agreement. Rent is pretty high considering its 3-4 people splitting the unit and each are still paying $600+ a month. The apartments are definitely not worth that. Glad it was furnished, and it is in a good area, and close to DMACC campus and shopping/eating areas! Whiskey River bar is very loud and will keep you up at night as well.

Lots of fun here! Many things going on in this community that you can watch or join in. Make friends easily! The only thing is the noise can be a bit much sometimes.

Generally a very nice setup and apartment, though all the walls and doors are quite thin, along with the ceilings. There are also lots of loud late nite noises, so be aware. Apartment itself is quite nice and comfortable, lots of room for customize ability.

It has been pretty decent, I’ve lived here for a year now, I don’t enjoy the loud parties everywhere but it’s a nice area and a good view, it’s definitely a good first place to live but not long term

Getting charges for things we weren’t told we would be charged for is a little annoying, getting told that we weren’t able to look at the cameras when someone tried to break in (doing damage to our door) so I could take that person to higher authorities also bugged me when jaz takes videos of the camera and sends them to the students and their group chats! Paying 620 a month when people in town homes pay less isn’t understandable, and I think with that price we pay we should be moving into an apartment with no damages like a working washer and dryer, a working garbage disposal, and a bathroom that fan that is in the wall rather than the sink, a microwave that isn’t broken, drawers that work, or carpet that doesn’t have nails sticking out of them

We are extremely pleased with the apartment, property amenities, and staff at Prairie Pointe. Jacob, the community manager, was very polite, professional, and accommodating. When our son saw the unit and his room, he was all smiles! He absolutely loves his place and is excited to start his new journey at school. We also want to give our personal thanks to Jacob for going the extra mile to get our son moved in early. We commend his efforts and cannot stress enough how much this meant to us... from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
