I booked one room for one night but unfortunately my plans changed. I called up the hotel not asking for a refund but to just change the date. They absolutely refused to changes the date even though I payed for a room. So I am out $123 that they just get for free. That is a bad business. I will never book with this business again and I will let anyone asking for recommendations on where to stay in the Des Moines area to not stay here. Horrible!!Responding to the owner: I called the reservation company. They called your hotel and your hotel still refused to change the date. The reservation company said that it was at your discretion as to whether you would allow the date change or not. Your management refused to change that date and kept my payment. Again this is very poor business by your company.

Christian greeted me promptly with a smile. She checked me in quickly without issues and explained all of the amenities. My room was clean and neat. 10 min into being in my room she called me on room phone and asked me if i needed anything. She is an asset for this hotel. She has been the best experience i have ever had at any hotel and i stay at hotels often. I highly recommend based on my interactions with Christian.

I just wanted to say thank you to Anna at the front desk. I have worked with her a few times and she is amazing at her job. Always friendly, and goes out of her way to help.

The staff and hotel are nice. Clean rooms and not too loud during the day. Only sad part is the hot-tub is closed down permantely. Which is unfortunate given it was the main thing I was looking forward too. Pool is nice but it maxes out at barely over 4ft so not very conducive for swimming.

We had a great stay as usual. Front desk was very pleasant and professional. The only sad part is the hot tub is closed forever ☹️Rooms: Modern TV lots of plugins. Lots of pillows and comfy beds.Walkability: 2 great restaurants within walking distance. Outback is just across the street and The Waterfront seafood restaurant is just down the street

I have nothing but positive reviews for this Sleep Inn location. Haylee and Alyssa have provided excellent customer service at the front desk, and Robie, the hotel manager, is absolutely top-notch.

We stayed here for state baseball 2023 After games parents like to hang out in the lobby/dining room seating area. we were told we had to leave at 10 plus leave the pool. This hotel is listed as a place to stay for state baseball. I would definitely look at a different hotel that doesn't care if you hang out in the lobby/dining area. Definitely a hotel that does not accommodate large groups plus rooms were damp

Will absolutely NEVER stay here again! Booked 6+ months in advance, were promised a second or 3rd floor room. Told them we were allergic to dogs, we couldn't have a room that had dogs, and when we get here to check in, we got a nasty animal smelling room 1st floor directly across from the pool, staff extremely argumentative and said they were out of rooms so we couldn't change, while the other lady answered the phone and took a brand new reservation. Will never stay here again!!

I stayed here two nights unexpectedly to see my mother at the hospital in Desmoines. The room was looked good and the breakfast was good.But.. the prices were way over what google said, I paid 125 and 150 for a single king per night. They couldnt get the TV for my room working the first night and ended up leaving the hotels cordless phone in my room while trying to fix tv. I was bombarded by calls all night while I thought it was my rooms phone. If everything was normal, I would have rated this place well. Nobody offered me another room for the TV and I slept terrible. I am very upset with this.

This hotel is very good and we like the access where you walk into the shower without without worrying about falling or breaking your neck . And there's handicap chairs in the pools. Friendly customer service. Beds are extremely comfortable. There's a shower chair in the in the bathroom so you can take a shower. They didn't question about service dogs and they're cool. Keep up the great work guys.

Youth Sports Teams Beware!Unfortunately, PYB makes us book hotel rooms for tournaments thru them only to find out that they are up charging parents 30% on rooms and requiring 2 nights stay no matter when your team plays. This IS NOT a team friendly hotel! They are not accommodating to teams coming and going with tournament schedules. The staff and General Manager are unfriendly and unprofessional showing a true lack of training. Trust me, book another hotel vs this one.

My family travels roughly 30 weekends each year for sports. I have never been more disappointed in a stay than this one. The GM treated our travel team parents and players very unprofessionally and the Hart Family of hotels should be ashamed. Going forward my family will no longer be staying at a Hart Family owned hotel and we intend to share our experience with other sports families. The goal of this hotel is clearly to put profit above customer service.

Do not book this hotel for a sporting event or mid-sized group function. I have been booking hotels for my kids' sports events for numerous years and this was one of the worst experiences I've ever encountered. The management team was extremely unaccommodating about dropping one night of a two-night hotel stay with several days notice so we were charged two nights when only staying one. Our group of approximately ten adults and six children were asked to leave the lobby at 9:30 pm on a Saturday night--even though it's posted that the lobby is open until 11 pm--after what I would consider normal volume levels and activity. If you accommodate sports teams and families like you say you do, you can expect a little bit of noise. I used to stay here frequently when visiting my mom from out of town but will never stay here again after the way my family and fellow teammates were just treated.
