I took an Amazon purchase back in the box it came in, but it wasn’t taped shut (normally my returns don’t even require I bring a box), and Raymond charged me $4 to tape it shut. We will not be using this location moving forward.

Man they must be bringing in the money now. When I was there(for less than 10 minutes) I watched 1 person pay 6 dollars because the box she brought her package in was not good enough. 1 person getting charged 5 dollars for their box to get 1 piece of tape and 1 person getting charged 4 dollars because they had to print a shipping label. What a joke this place has become.

There wasn't a zero star button but if there was I would have hit it. I went to help my fiance use the fingerprint scanner for a job that she was getting that required fingerprints. We asked multiple times for help from the associates who were not interested in helping unless we were shipping a package. We were having trouble the entire time because their fingerprint scanner kept restarting and every time we ask for assistance they said that everybody has trouble with it and they can't help. We were in there for a half an hour at least after we had first gotten there and so many people came after us that were helped and every time we asked we were denied any assistance. I get that UPS does packages and that is their priority, but I feel like anybody in that store should be trained on any piece of machinery they have in there and how to help their customers. We chose UPS because we have used them in the past and trusted them. Never have I ever been so disappointed. I will never come back to the location in Ankeny because we got zero assistance and they do not care about their customers. I will never advise anybody to use the UPS in Ankeny. Thoroughly disappointed.

in·com·pe·tent not having or showing the necessary skills to do something successfully. This store is the textbook definition of the dictionary meaning of incompetent. I paid to ship an amazon return and they shipped it back to me!!!!! Then after admitting their mistake they proceeded to offer to ship it again for me.... at my expense! When did businesses stop being responsible for their employees mistakes? How can you be a UPS store and not be able to successfully ship something? FAIL! I will NOT be back.... I'd rather take my chances with USPS! (and thats not saying much!)

UPS Store Ankeny IA - terrible customer service. I needed a small piece of tape to cover an area of box I was shipping; person told me “I would have to charge you $5 & I prefer not to” what the heck!? For as many of times that I’ve been in the store and how much money I have spent; It makes me sad that service is this poor now. I will not be going back to this location.

5/18/25- The young brunette that was working today needs to be fired. Or at least severely reprimanded. I came in with an RMA number on a box. Just like I was told by the company I was sending it to. The label it was shipped with was on the box. It had been torn in half when I removed it and the sticky part on the back wasn't as effective so it had halfway rolled up like it is on the dash of my car. The first thing this girl did while asking about the package is rip it off, ball it up and throw it away. Then she asked where it was going to. I said it was on the label that she just crumpled up and threw away. She said that was not even legible. Then she continued to argue with me about it as she pulled it out of the garbage. To the point that she yelled at me then walked away. At which point the guy working comes up and argues that IT IS faded and partially agrees with her but he wasn't going to yell at me.
So my question to you people is this. Am I in the wrong for calmly arguing with this entitled child and did I deserve the treatment that was afforded me?

Be very careful!!! This (and I assume ALL) UPS stores are not liable after you drop off or even pay for your UPS shipping at these stores. Once they leave this store, you're on your own! Filing a claim with UPS is ridiculous! Twice we've used this store, twice we been burned! NEVER again!!!

Horrible location. Rude staff. Unorganized and a complete mess. Management needs to step up and make changes fast! I ended up going to Fed Ex due to the incompetence of the staff at this location.

I’ve had nothing but issues with this location. Poor customer service, inconsistent hours of operation, and supposed system outages. Can we get another option for drop offs from Amazon?

Isaiah (we asked his name) was awesome. We had a complicated series of transactions, and he was knowledgeable, efficient, professional, and friendly. We were more than satisfied with his efforts to help us.

The employees were professional, friendly, hard-working, and efficient. The store was clean and well-lit. Parking was ample due to its free parking lot that is shared with the other stores in this strip mall. The hours were good as they're open until 6:30 p.m. I really found this store to be very easy to visit.
