I took my cat Sugar for a front declaw and to be spade and shots on August 20th for $ 250.00. Let me explain I have always had all my cats Cammy, Sadie and Daisy to get the same things and dog Roxie to get spayed and shots. I rescued all my babies and he used to take really good care of the them. Anyway I had a friend call for me and make the appointment. So the secretary just assumed that Sugar was his cat and evidently my debit card was too when she asked him to sign it so he signed his own name instead of getting me from outside to sign my own card. I had to go outside to calm down after the vet yelled at me when I wanted to talk to him about my dog Roxie he said that won't change the price and it will be an hour at least. When my friend came out and told me I was furious and told the secretary that my dog Roxie and my cat Sugar was my babies not my friends. Well apparently the vet took his anger out on Sugar .He did a butch job on my cat and put so much glue in between her paws she had trouble walking when we got back to Missouri where I was moving. She had fleas that she never had before she came there. So I paid another $150.00 to have her looked at by the vet down here and she said that was the worse job of spade she had seen and Sugar had severe infection from the spade. Then the stitches dissolved and she had a gaping hole that you could see her insides and her organs so I had to butterfly her with bandages till the vet could see her again. They sewed her up again gave me two prescriptions of antibiotics and still had to clean up her paws again and keep her overnight just to be safe another $ 205.00 and no fleas. Now she is doing good and this Friday they will take out her stitches. Avoca Clinic is so lucky I am not sueing them. My new vet said if I hadn't brought her in when we did she might not of made it. Love my new vet she really cares and saved my baby. The old vet use to care about my babies evidently not anymore.I wouldn't ever go back to the Avoca Clinic. As far as I am concerned he shouldn't even have a license anymore the way he treated Sugar just cause he was mad at me.

I brought a bat in to be tested for rabies. I was not told that after this happened that I would be billed $65.00. And when you’re trying to make it on $400 a month spousal support you kinda can’t just shell out $65. But I had to have the bat tested because my cat caught this bat and I also just wanted to have it tested to make sure that if any other animals got sick maybe this might be the reason why.
Yes, the bat was dead when my cat brought it to me. This is the first time I’ve ever seen a bat up close in person other than at the zoo. So I was freaking out while thanking my cat for her “gift “at the same time. ?

Took my show class bred cat and newborn kittens to this vet as it looked like she was straining to birth another baby; after 3 hours ago straining and panting I knew she needed help…I usually got to Lyman but I figured she needed help asap and avoca was 10 min from home- I called this facility and told them every detail and they told me to come in so they could check her out. I got there and waited 20 min to be seen (they didn’t even take her out of the kennel the WHOLE time), I showed the vet the videos and he peeked inside the kennel with the door closed and said “well I can spay her, that’s all I can do but we don’t have the equipment for X-rays or ultrasounds to see what’s blocking her”. I said I would take my cat elsewhere to get checked as she will not be getting fixed unless her life depended on it. THEY STILL CHARGED ME $45 FOR NOTHING; NO EXAMINATION- NOTHING!!!!! I called LYMAN VET CLINIC they squeezed her into an already double booked day; the second I showed up they immediately got to work on her- found out my cat was just severely constipated from her pregnancy, she didn’t have a baby stuck and DEFINITELY didn’t need spayed.
She is now completely treated, happy, and healthy at home and for a very reasonable and affordable price!
I can guarantee I will NEVER go back to Avoca again. Lyman Vet Clinic will forever be the only place I take my animals as Doug and the ladies have shown over and over that they will do everything in their power to save my animals!

Absolutely outstanding service by the vet, techs and the receptionist! My cats tail was bleeding from an accident on Friday night, on Saturday morning I was trying to get her in as soon as possible. Called this vet and he was able to see her later that morning. She needed a small surgery that the vet performed that same day and I was able to take her home to recover later in the afternoon! He was VERY professional, calming, and informative before and after her care. All this was very affordable as well. I HIGHLY recommend this vet!
