Lifelong Quad Cities resident. I have banked at all of the credit unions over the years and I believe Ascentra is the best there is. Just did a standard H.E. Loan on our home and the rate was the best being offered anywhere AND with the lowest closing fees too! I enjoyed working w Beau V. He was very friendly and prompt thru the whole process. Thanks Beau!

Haven’t had problems with Ascentra up until recently when their new cards were released. I still have yet to receive mine. Nobody can tell me why my card was not delivered to my address (outside of Iowa on husband’s military orders) but I still get my bank statements to the same address they read back from the envelope my card is in. Had to have a family member go pick it up and they’re overnighting it for me. No reason we should have to pay money to overnight a card that Ascentra failed to even tell me was sent back to them a month ago. Now I’m stuck with NO access to ANY of my money. Thankfully my husband banks elsewhere or I would be screwed over with an empty tank and no way to get to work.
I had emailed inquiring about my card either yesterday or the day before. They called me at 4/4:30 AM HST (which is fine, people easily forget about timezone difference), they said they got my email asking about the card and would look into it. I asked if they would be able to email me back once they find out what the shipping status is/whats going on. They said yes and we ended the call. Six hours later, no response in the email yet. I call back, the woman (who was extremely efficient and very kind) that answered the phone got right on it and found my card at their office with a “Return to Sender” stamp on it. I don’t entirely fault them for this as it can easily be blamed on the post office as well, but to know it was returned and that I was not notified is beyond ridiculous. Hopefully I don’t have to deal with any other issues like this once I move back to the mainland.

I have never had a bad experience... ascentra was very helpful and prompt when I was starting my account there... I'd recommend them to anyone who is tired of big banks with charges for everything

The Bettendorf 53rd branch did not stop withdraw of my mortgage from an old bank account even after I went in person to verify everything was taken care if. The mortgage payment was then withdrawn twice and my old account went negative with overdraft fees. I had to pull out additional money to cover negative balance on top of double payment. I had to initiate fixing the situation and run around town to correct their mistake!!

I usually don't like writing bad reviews and like to highlight businesses who go above and beyond. I reached out to Ascentra Credit Union with a genuine interest in doing business, but I was disappointed by their lack of follow-up. I submitted an inquiry through their website and even called to follow up did get an email the next day (2 days later), responded back to him, no answer the next day, called no answer, now it's been another 2 days with no response. This lack of engagement left me feeling undervalued as a potential client, and I ultimately took my business elsewhere. I recommend Ascentra Credit Union improve their follow-up process to ensure better customer service.

They sponsored an event at my sons school, so we opened his account here. Jody helped us get it started and she did a great job and was patient with our children being there. A nice thing for the kids is they have games in lobby to keep them occupied. They also have a change machine for member’s and how great that you do not have to roll change to deposit.
