We stayed 3 nights at the Carrollton Inn while attending a memorial service for my uncle in Iowa. During our stay, we opted not to use housekeeping services as we didn't feel it was necessary for this short stay.Prior to checkout, I reviewed the charges on my email and noticed a $250.00 cleaning charge for smoking. My wife and I do not smoke and did not ever smell smoke in the room. When I asked the front desk about this charge the housekeeper said she could smell smoke in the hallway outside our room all weekend. I advised the housekeeper and front desk staff that we do not smoke and it was not accurate to blame the odor of smoke in the hallway as coming from our room. The housekeeper then went into the room and returned to tell us that she could smell smoke in the room. I remembered seeing several employees taking smoking breaks outside the hotel. I asked the housekeeper if she smokes, and she replied "yes". I said of course she could smell smoke because it would linger on her clothes. Not a good system to have a smoking employee determine if someone smoked on their room. At the time of check out, the front desk staff never said they would remove the charge. We left feeling very taken advantage of, as if they had purposely targeted out of state guests. I told them I would be disputing the charge with my bank. A few days later I noticed the charge was credited back to my account. I have left several messages for the General Manager to call me but I have not received any call back. At a minimum, I would have expected someone to contact us during the stay to ask us if we had been smoking in the room instead of waiting until we checked out to incorrectly charge us. This could have been sorted out much more amicably.

Rooms are nice at a glance but the fit & finish is lacking. loose handles, paint scuffs. Things most wouldn't notice. The single king bed room is small, and the bed was pretty firm. I didn't sleep well on it. It did have a nice shower. Clean, no funk, and good pressure. Has a microwave and mini fridge in room. There was no daily maid service the 3 days I was there. It has an exercise room with a treadmill, bike, and some light dumbell weights. Included breakfast is nice.

Very good hotel and fairly recently renovated. A bit echoy and can hear almost clearly between rooms. Would still return.

Haven’t stayed here in a couple years and now I remember why. This place is newly decorated, but has many reminders of its pre-renovation state. The rooms are musty and leave a smell on your clothes and luggage; a combination of damp, mildewy, old smoke, and overpowering air freshener. The hotel itself is extremely loud late into the evening from adjacent rooms and hallway noise. Doors between adjoining rooms are incredibly thin. The cigarette and marijuana smoke from outside enters the rooms from wall-mounted HVAC unit and poorly sealed doors and windows. The locks on sliding glass doors on ground levels are easily overcome with a firm pull. Overall, scary and gross.Safety: Grounds rooms poorly secured. No parking lot/outside security camera (hope you like door dings).

So I work on the road and have stayed at the Carrollton Inn about 5 times now and well this last time was rough. Always had a decent experience since I stay in hotels about 50% of the year and this time bugged me. First off the old lady at the counter said I booked 3 rooms when I’m fact I only booked 2. Trying to streamline the process for both rooms to be put on my card and under my name the lady went and said there were other rooms booked for my technician when I’m fact there was not and it was a whole huge debacle. Next we’re the rooms. I see some upgrades have been done. Well neither rooms remotes worked. The internet was almost worst then dial up. And the lighting both light by the bed were different colors. One yellow and full the other bright white. The bathroom light flickered and well the room stunk like musty or cigarette smell. Bed was super lumpy and pillows were for a child they were so small. Bathroom water pressure was spotty at best. Overall not a good experience and hope next time I’m in town I don’t have to stay at the super 8.

A little concerned. I never came here. So if somebody had my phone..my phone came here..If that's the case then I had a complete lapse of memory. I hope I came here for good intentions if I was here. The next time I come here I'm hoping I can remember. I wish I could give a better review since I don't know anything about this location. My concern is maybe my wife had her bag with my phone in it and she went there. Now that's problematic I'm going to have to discuss this. I don't think you meant to be a tattletale but somebody's tattling on somebody because I've never been here.
