Id give zero stars but won't let me the cashier patricia rang me up and two items were a penny she them changed the price back to the original...she was rude...I did call corporate and waiting on a call...BTW that is considered fraud and is illegal

Besides gas stations, Dollar General is the only store in Carter Lake, Iowa! Better than nothing!

This store is completely unsatisfactory, they did a soft remodel of shelves and coolers but the aisles are still packed full of carts, not wide enough. The floors are disgusting, none of those were replaced. And to think, they send their managers to train here.

Probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had at any store in my lifetime. I went to ring up my groceries at what I thought was a self-pay kiosk and the lady behind the counter ran over and said what are you doing? I replied well. Which one is the self-checkout? All three look exactly the same. I'm sorry. Can you ring me up now? No she says! I asked her why she was being so rude with me and she went irate and told me to back away from her and leave my store. I asked her can I speak to your manager and she says I am the manage!. She had no name tag so I asked her what her name was. She said it was Victoria.

There is a clear lack of consistent and experienced management. Must not get enough support and training. Always a long line and half the workers have sub par customer service skills. Beats me how you add on fresh food and expand the grocery section but can’t either have two cashiers or have one monitor the self check out lane while running a register! Expect to sit in line 10-25 minutes during peak hours and good luck needing any further help besides being checked out lol! Most likely a shitty culture starting at the top so I can’t blame the every day worker that’s trying to earn a check. Just a shame they are losing customers and money and it’s their own fault

I look up Dollar General to see what time you close.It says 10 we drive down there.It's 9:04 and they're closed.They won't help anyone won't let anyone in for 1 thing. Really sucks when you use Google and then you don't even go by that . You should correct this Do you close at nine or do you close that ten? I did not know that you could pick or choose. I'm very inconvenient for the people of carter lake when there's nowhere else close For Is food or shopping

I will say this store isn't to bad. Its messy but do like how much stuff there is. I also like how retro it is (but probably cause their to lazy to update but whatever) and some credit as is basically the only store in town cause I guess no one wants the big piece of land near the trailer park. Overall i like this place ?

This DG is terrible most of the time. Isles are constantly blocked with carts full of products waiting to be stocked on the shelves(shelves have room for the products). Very rare to see more than one employee working and if you do they are stressed from carrying their co-workers share of work. The list is too long to keep naming every problem. I would give 0 stars it were an option

Just went here 11/27 1750, that's 5:50 pm. The doors are locked with a sign that says on break until 6:30 pm. When did stores start allowing people to close them down? I will be talking to the manager and calling their corporate office.

Today I was helped by a young lady named Sara. Her customer service skills are off the chain!!! She was professional, yet spunky and she was very efficient. The Dollar general is lucky to have her!!!
