On Tuesday we were part of my mother in laws funeral procession on highway 34 in Southern Iowa. There is a distribution center not far from there. Every HyVee semi we met pulled over to the shoulder. The world needs more kindness like this. Thank you HyVee

it was a busy evening in store. we met friends for drinks in Wahlburger's restaurant late afternoon. Festive enough: a Coca Cola semi was parked out front all decorated & lit for Christmas season. inside Santa was available to pose for pictures and a string quintet from WCF symphony was playing in food court. Great ambiance and it's all downhill from here on. Friends were sitting at restaurant bar with an inch deep moat of water under their stools, it was coming from restroom and no one had come to do anything about it. I'm guessing restrooms are 40 feet down a long hall from dining room and goes by a door to kitchen somewhere back there because a chef kept delivering food from that hall and through pool of water. There was no bartender on duty. we had to summon anyone to get us drinks. A grumpy deli manager finally showed up and delivered our beverages. Then a kid arrived with a stack of towels to mop up water. I asked if he couldn't use a mop, but said he didn't think they had one, oh well. The deli manager went back to his food prep counter and offered no suggestions, help or encouragement to young man cleaning up mess. We never got a smile, greeting or asked about more drinks. Kids were banging their silverware on dining table in middle of room & as our party broke up, my husband & I decided to move out to selfserve deli tables, get a meal from food court & sat to enjoy music. There were a lot of dirty tables and being near front doors it was cold and drafty. Something should be done to enclose east side of deli dining room! Our food was okay, fried chicken dinners. I needed groceries from cheese island so proceeded to shop the store. I noticed produce area floor needed to be swept and mopped as I walked through. This is not where I do my regular grocery shop, only for gourmet items. I had a long list, my back was aching from time on bar stool so kept plugging through. First stop - cheese island at 7:15 PM & staff was cleaning slicer & covering the food in display cases. I have no idea what times specialty shops close, but this was ridiculous. They didn't want to but they relented, put slicer back into service and cut ham & cheese to my request. Next stop was meat counter & they didn't have any fresh chicken breast with skin & bones intact. Staff had to go looking for it in self-serve case. Meat staff wasn't certain where to find a couple more items on my list, so I asked to have help meet me. I waited about 5 minutes, no one came so I set out to try looking for big tortillas, dried fruit & jam. The meat staff came out to ask if anyone had ever arrived & so he found a couple young kids who knew exactly which aisles i should check, they were correct. By now I had been all over half of store, was really in pain, so I called it a night and headed to check out. I'll go to my little grocery another time for rest of the list. As it was, 2 paper grocery sacks cost me $54.00 each! The store seems to have plenty of staff around in various areas, but to me it appears that no one is working very hard, rather they are working hard to look like they are working. Somewhere it gets lost in translation that staff are loafing off. From what I observed this evening it seems none of young folks were ever trained to WORK, they seem not to know what they should be doing and the managers are sick of babysitting. The only saving Grace was that symphony group were finished performing at 8:00PM as I headed to my vehicle. I'll add one star to my review because that was really enjoyable.

The only Hy-Vee in Cedar Falls. Fun fact, when Kurt Warner of the NFL was cut by the Green Bay Packers after going un drafted in the NFL Draft in 1994, it was here that he was a grocery store bag boy before going on to NFL Europe and eventually a multiple time MVP and Hall of Fame career in the NFL.

Amazing flowers for my outdoor wedding! Gerri was easy to work with. We met and went over everything I would need. I have no clue when it comes to colors and designs, but she helped me every step of the way. We ordered bouquets, flowers for the wedding arch, and flowers for the guys and gals of the wedding. When I need flowers again I will be going there!

I've ordered groceries from here multiple times because I have a serious health problem. The last few times I've gone to pick up the groceries it's taken over an hour! It's absolutely ridiculous that I have to sit in my car for that long. They need to figure out a better system because whatever they are doing is obviously not working. The whole point of ordering groceries online is that it's supposed to be faster than going in and shopping. Will not be using grocery pickup again!!!!

Being out of state we were concerned about our 86+ year old parents in Cedar Falls staying home, so helped then set up a delivery order from HyVee. I called and they said anyone over 60 got free delivery. So we had them set up their delivery online, and they got charged for the delivery, and to add insult to injury, the delivery person had the gumption to ask them for a tip. Really? super-seniors and you treat them like this? Not good.

Called store before bothering to go there the girl who answered the phone was too lazy to call and check if there was toilet paper instead without checking said yes were fully stocked, drive there watering time and gas because of this lazy excuse of an hyvee employee; I get there looking all over for it I didn't know where it would be because I dont live in cedarfalls I finally find an employee and ask where the toilet paper would be located and they say they have been out since Monday when I told him I just called a few minutes before that and told them what customer service told me they said customer service is supposed to tell the customers they are out until the next truck on x date but instead the girl sent me there saying they were fully stocked

"Hyvee, where all the hot singles get their milk". I saw that on a T-Shirt somewhere. I don't know about turning this place into a date spot, but it definitely had everything I needed to get through the week for breakfast goods. I personally went to their "Health Foods" section which is designed differently than the rest of the store, which I appreciated, because I was looking for gluten free ingredients and knew exactly where to go. Not the biggest selection in the world compared to, let's say, a Whole Foods, but more than enough to pick up a few odds and ends.

Most of the food here is really good. I had some lasagne here that was better by far than a local restaurant and much cheaper.

Sometimes they have good sales, but otherwise very over priced if you are not watching ads. I used to like there dining area, but now they are taking it out and putting in a restaurant. It's a grocery store, not a Friday night hot spot.....I will miss there weekly specials.

I'm not from cedar falls but came cause I have family here. Seems that this is the closest thing to something like a walmarts/jewel/Dominic's hybrid. Maybe not Walmart, this place seems a few cents costlier and that adds up when purchasing several items. Anyways the place was well organized, extensive selection of alcohol, food samples here and there and very clean and lit building in general.

This location is very busy but is the closest grocery store to my home. My family frequents the Chinese express and the deli for breakfast quite often. Plus we buy quite a bit of our groceries here. The Chinese express is fantastic. We love the honey chicken and sweet and sour chicken. The crab Rangoon are great too. You get huge portions of the money. The meals come with an egg roll and appetizer (crab Rangoon). My husband loves their breakfast buffets on Sunday. It starts at 9am. They have eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy. I usually order an omelet off the breakfast menu. They have by far the largest selection and variety of groceries of any store in the area. If you can't find the items you want here you're probably going to have to go to a specialty store or order off the Internet. The slogan at hyveeis there is a helpful smile in every aisle. I don't believe that. Sometimes you get people to acknowledge you but most the time you don't. They never proactively offer assistance and ask if they can help you find anything. They usually try to rush by you in such a hurry that you don't want to ask them anything. This location is extremely busy. You can tell when the University of Northern Iowa is back in session because the parking lot definitely gets fuller. The bad part is when it's out of session and there's less people shopping they take up a quarter of the parking lot with the greenhouse in the summer. Parking is always terrible.
