One person says I have it for a week, another reports it stolen, another charges me too much, the next says it's taken care of. After everything told to call the local office (which is apparently Davenport). Terrible business model with even worse execution.

Just call their competition. Two different locations set me up perfectly (with multiple options) the time that it took U-Haul to call me back the first time.I talked to four different customer service people all offered me the exact same wrong trailer... Mixed in with constantly contradicting themselves. We have a trailer available oh no we don't,,, we have a truck available oh no we don't... From now on U-Haul is the place of Last Resort. The rules that Define the way their customer service Representatives can handle a situation, made finding a solution impossible even though options were available. In a perfect world, I would have gotten a trailer for two days. They only had a trailer available for one of those days. I guess their rules make it so they can't give me the option to only rent for one day. I was traveling 600 miles to help a widow move because she had no one else... I was willing to be very flexible.. U-Haul made sure that that didn't happen...Their competition gave me exactly what I wanted, because it was Memorial Day weekend, I picked up the trailer on Friday and I returned it on Tuesday and was charged for a single day.

Mike, the GM here, was so respectful and kind to me on one of the worst days of life - and I'm pretty old! - and I will always be grateful for his help both when I rented storage space and when I finished using the space. He is the best!

I reserved a truck at least two months ago and they called me two days before picking up my rental that they didn't have any trucks available and I would have to go to Marshalltown, the next closest facility with a truck, to get one. I am moving across the country, a 16 hour drive, and now I have to unexpectedly add another two hours on to drive to Marshalltown and back the morning of my move. An earlier heads up would have been nice so I could have better options, not notifying me with about 36 hours left until pickup.

I was told they would have a truck for me in CF but they messed up and are making me drive 1.5 extra hrs for a truck. Don’t recommend them, terrible customer service as well. No humans to talk to and everyone is busy and on hold.
