Very rarely do I take the time to write a review but these guys deserve it. Their pricing, customer service, and their warranty ALL were top notch. I won't hesitate to give them more business or recommend them to anyone that needs work done on their car, in the future. If you are interested, here is the back story. My sons 2009 Honda civic was having issues starting and an intelligent guess was that it was the starter (yes we had the battery checked). But we always seemed to be able to eventually get it to turn over and then it would work for 2-3 weeks without out issue. 6 months later, (when everything else in my life seemed to want to break) it finally died, and I mean nothing, but a strong click happened. Would have replaced it on my own BUT Honda decided to hide it up underneath in an impossible place. Honestly, the car needed to be lifted WAY up to get to it. So, I reluctantly called around for quotes. First couple calls scared the bejesus out of me. ie; $$$$, other places wouldn't even give me a quote over the phone, told me to bring it in (and this is AFTER I told them the car wouldn't start...) eventually I found Automotive Service Evolution. After explaining my issue to them and what WAS happening, there was enough confidence to at least go with the notion that it was the starter. The quote (Half of most places), the conversation and the reviews online gave me the confidence to give them a go. I had the car towed their (thank you State Farm emergency roadside service plan!), they worked on the car on the scheduled day, paid the quoted price, and car works as promised.

I had an appt scheduled to try and find an oil leak I’ve had for a bit. I replaced some worn out value cover gaskets which fixed part of the issue…but it was still dripping. I’m a DIY kinda person and just couldn’t find this stupid leak. Took it in to ASE and they pointed out what they thought was the main culprit. They told be straight up their cost for the fix but also told be it was totally doable as a DIY.
Never felt pressured, helped me out, and didn’t charge for the visual inspection.
Honesty goes a long way with me. If you’re looking for a shop that’ll tell you straight, I believe ASE is a great place from my first impressions. Thanks again!

I went in due to engine noise. They determine I needed a valve adjustment to resolve that issue and pointed out and explained a oil leak due to a solenoid that was less expensive to replace at the same time. The performed the work as expected at a very competitive price. I plan to use them in the future.

I’ve been to a few places in Cedar Rapids, but this is the best. They’re knowledgeable, honest and fairly priced. One of the two owners will work on your vehicle and speak with you about it.
