There is a one-inch Gap above the main door, a hole in the bathroom door, stains in the mattress that look like blood, and the smells in the lobby were inhuman.

Reserved/paid for room through Priceline. Got to the hotel 1)charged me an extra $50 deposit for the room (supposed to refund it to me if room is ok, but still haven't received it back...and the room was fine when I left). 2) apparently they don't recognize ESA dogs, even if you show papers. So I was charged and extra fee for my dog to be there too.
Please be aware of these extra charges when booking with this hotel.

Terrible Experience: Bed Bugs and Roaches!**
I recently stayed at Econo and had an absolutely horrendous experience. From the moment I walked into the room, I noticed it was far from clean. However, the real nightmare began when I found bed bugs in my bed and roaches crawling in the bathroom!
The bed bug bites were painful and itchy, and I spent the rest of my stay feeling extremely uncomfortable and paranoid. Despite bringing this to the attention of the hotel staff, they were unhelpful and dismissive. No effort was made to address the issue or compensate for the inconvenience and distress caused.
The overall hygiene and cleanliness of the hotel were appalling. This place is a health hazard, and I strongly advise anyone considering staying here to look elsewhere. Avoid Econo at all cost

Noteworthy details: Make sure your sheets are clean I found bedbugs in my hair

My husband and I got a room for 2 nights because we had to work an event for our security job. Boy am I glad that 3 weeks ago was the last time we would ever have to stay there and only have a month left until we move to Iowa City and won't have to get hotels in Cedar Rapids anymore. We did the reserve now pay later option and my husband got charged more than what it said on Expedia. It said on Expedia 112.34. They charged him 167 plus a 56 dollar deposit on top of that. At first the guy at the front desk asked if 167 was ok and did not specify if the 167 was for the rate of the stay and the 56 combined or not. It was a big miscommunication issue. We were both very upset because it took a massive hit on our budget and barely got by for essentials that weekend. We will never stay here again. We have a few more gigs coming up next month and will gladly spend my hard earned money at the Motel 6 next door. I never have issues with them and they're always friendly.

whether it’s dog piss, weed smoke, mold, or general mustiness, there is truly no limit to the smells available at this establishment. doors and walls are paper thin. staff are obnoxious - why in the world am i getting a call at 10:50am that i’m late for 11am checkout? unreal. there are so many half decent dirt cheap hotels in cedar rapids. no need to stay at this one.

Rooms: Cedar Rapids is certainly expanding. We want to have some cooperative efforts to realistically keep our streets free of drugs n gunshots.

Excellent location, staff was friendly. No issues with check-in.
Rooms: Kitchen and closet cubby right in the door across from bathroom. One double bed with plenty of room to entertain.
Nearby activities: 5 min from Ice Arena, 10 minutes from downtown by car. Bus route stop close by
Safety: Business district, no major concerns about safety noted, other than close proximity to HWy 30 & Interstate 380
Walkability: Not many venues/restaurants within walking distance

No breakfast, despite a photo in the listing of bakery. Bad pillows. Slow Internet. Only a few rv channels. Poor heating. Old furniture. Normal rate at Baymont (next door) is less than the discount rate here.
