I’ve seen a few bad reviews on here for the employee named “Summer” so I’m going to add the one I just had.
My family and I were forced to move over Christmas and New Year this past year. My wife and I both lost our jobs last summer and it seems like we spent the fall playing catch up just in time for the land lord to tell us we had to go…thru the grace of some good friends and a little luck we pulled off Christmas for our 4 children fairly well, tho Christmas Eve was our first night in the new place. My wife and I wanted to get the kids some things to decorate their rooms with and had received $80 in vouchers to goodwill and decided to go and look before they expired on the 27th of this month.
Our total at the counter was $60 something and Summer suggested that another oackahe of socks would get us closer to the $70 in vouchers we’d given her. I went and grabbed another pack of socks🤷♂️. Which put us over…somehow…by $1.75. No sweat, I’ll run out to the car and get some change…
Well, Summer decided this was unacceptable. And I heard before I exited her tell my wife: “maybe bring money to the store next time…”. She only got ruder from there, pushing our things aside to ring up someone else, even tho no one else was waiting…laughed and scoffed at my wife when she became flustered. Asked my wife if she “was going to hit her”…like she’s worth going to jail for. All i could think, aside from wanting to shove the items on the counter at her, was what if she’d said that to someone who was in a bad way that day, what if that had been the straw that broke the camels back and some poor soul decided to do something reckless to themselves…
Then it occurred to me that she probably wouldn’t care…how can someone work in a place like that and be SO smug? I’m thankful that I do not need to depend on places like this to get by and now I feel sorry for the people that do.
This woman needs to be fired at least. Places like Goodwill should not have the space for humans who lack empathy or compassion. She was unnecessarily rude, confrontational, and the worst of all laughed at my wife when she saw that she was humiliated already.
It’s hard for me not to say that I hope the next person she’s rude to or humiliates is having one of those days…and she does get what she deserves.

This was my favorite goodwill. The whole staff was always friendly, polite, and respectful. I spent a lot of money at not only this goodwill but all of them. After the way that Summer treated and degraded me I don’t think I’ll be back at least not for a very long time. I’ve never felt so humiliated. I was purchasing a backpack and multiple clothes items and was trying to put it all in the backpack to carry it to the register and she tells me not to put anything in the backpack. And I iterated that I was just putting my things in it to carry them all up to the register. She comes closer to me and raises her voice and in the most condescending tone tells me they don’t like people putting things into the bags. And glares at me. I told her it sounds to me like she’s accusing me of stealing and she nods her head yes and rolls her eyes and smirks. I told her how uncalled for and rude that was and that I frequently shop there and spend a lot of money there and she scoffs At me. I am so unnerved and humiliated. I put all of my things back and left without purchasing any of it. I don’t think it’s good business to accuse a loyal patron of theft when none has occurred. Today was the first day I’ve seen her at this store or any store and I know good and well that I’ve spent more hours in the store than she has but she left such a old sour taste in my mouth (metaphorically) I can’t bring myself to shop there. Dani and her staff at the council location are much more personable and tactful.

They have recently rearranged the store. It did have an amazing craft supply section and now it's on 2 wire pegs.

Prices are becoming ridiculous. I was checking out and saw the rack by the counter had jeans listed for $30-$40. These were used, not new with tags. Why not have standard pricing across the board? I feel like they are seeing people reselling items and trying to cash in. All that happens is those people will stop buying and the everyday consumer in need is stuck paying retail and can't afford it. I wish people would see this and start donating to local thrift stores instead.

Made a trip into Goodwill today. Everything was clean and tidy. Plenty of staff on hand. As always, we had a good time rummaging through all the goodies and finding lots of things to take home.
