Matt Honeyfield in the buyer center is extremely knowledgeable and courteous. I was impressed by how he handled my car experience. Please bring him Taco Bell when you stop by and see him! Thank you again Matt!

I've had multiple bad experiences with this car dealership and service center. My most recent bad experience just happened today at the service center. I have no problem with a place of business being busy or behind for my appointment, but be upfront and don't try to tell us that it is our fault when you did not even open the ticket for my service until a half hour after I arrived! Today it took over 2 hours for them to change my oil and rotate my tires. When I inquired if it was normal for an oil change and tire rotation to take that long (I had originally been told 1 to 1.5 hours) Adam tried to tell me that I had only waited 1.5 hours. I corrected him as to my arrival time and it seems that my ticket was started by them about a half hour after I arrived! I then pushed back further and stated that my first update from them was not for another half hour after my ticket was started. He was then speechless and tried to expedite my check out process by barely grazing over the recall notice on my vehicle and not inquiring whether or not I wanted that recall noticed fixed - not a major recall, so I am not that concerned; however, I now wonder what is in the computer system from them pertaining to this recall. Unfortunately they are the only Hyundai service center in town so I have to keep going back...

After a bad first time experience with McGrath in Dubuque, I called the Cedar Rapids location yhw same day and bought the very same car with no probkems, and am very satisfied with my purchase. My title took 10 days to arrive so they delivered a loaner to my house an hour and half paway, and delivered my new vehicle when it came in. Everyone i dealt with was great & friendly. Highly recommended

I have been working with Ethan Wise at the Used Car Center in Hiawatha, and he has been a huge help finding me the perfect car based on all of my requests. Highly recommend requesting him and using McGrath for your next vehicle purchase!

We recently purchased a vehicle from Carter Vieth. I gave him 30 minutes and his presentation was so great that we gave him 2-3 hours! We never felt any pressure to buy from anyone there at McGrath. Raymond Liu was instrumental in helping us also. They both made me feel cared for as a customer. After the sale I received a call from Jill to ensure that everything had gone well with the sale and delivery. Her phone call proved to me once again that McGrath service goes way beyond the sale! I would highly recommend giving them a try if you're looking for a vehicle!

Buying a new car is a momentous thing, and can cause trepidation. But I was treated like an old friend in an easy, comfortable way. Cristin made me feel comfortable in a genuine way. I had a lot of questions, and Cristin answered them thoroughly and patiently. Sometimes I asked the same question over and over, and she always cheerfully answered. She made me feel like the most important person while I was with her or on the phone. She was accommodating with scheduling. When my car arrived, she spent a long time orienting me to the many features that were new to me. It was a little like moving from a car to a spacecraft. This was definitely the best car-buying experience I've had.

For a dealership that claims their motto is "Do the right thing", they seem to have a poor understanding of the concept. My fiance and I drove up from Des Moines to pick up our order for a 2023 Elantra. The process was fine....until it wasn't. My fiance was trading in her 2014 Ford Focus. Their test drive of our vehicle took more than 20 minutes, at which time our sales person Kaitlan, returned to inform us that they could only offer us $1,500 in trade (valued at $4,375 in KBB) because there was hesitation in the transmission between second and third gear and the sales manager "was worried the transmission was going to drop out of the car." The vehicle had had ZERO problems on our drive from Des Moines to Cedar Rapids and suddenly it has a transmission shake at time for trade in? How convenient. After some back and forth, we were told the most they could give us was $2,734 and that was with them wringing every possible nickel and dime out of their profit line. Imagine our anger when we saw that the very vehicle their sales manager was worried would have a catastrophic failure is now listed on their website for sale....a mere week after trade in.During our finance portion of the process, John Sanchez attempted to scare us into a $5,000 extended warranty by falsely stating Hyundai's 5 year/60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty was in fact "only available with no out of pocket customer expense for the first 12 months and 12,000 miles of the factory warranty" and "if something goes wrong with the electronics, Hyundai will only cover it if it occurs within the first 36,000 miles." Both of these are patently FALSE according to Hyundai's Customer Service Center of North America. Furthermore, the bumper to bumper warranty of 5 years or 60,000 miles is not strictly a "pick and choose coverage model" as John attempted to have us believe. We will be speaking with other Consumer Protection Agencies and will NEVER do business with The McGrath Family of Dealerships ever again.

Over three months ago my car was in for a “campaign event” requiring basically the replacement of the entire engine. On day one I was told multiple times Hyundai would reimburse me for the rental I required as the dealership “didn’t have any loaners available”. I was also specifically directed by the dealership to go to Hertz (not the cheapest option – relevant later) because they “work directly with Hyundai and it will make reimbursement easier”. I was told that Hyundai would start paying the rental directly “in a few days” I just needed to cover the gap time until work was “approved” and would later be reimbursed.I rented the car for 3 days at hertz’s lowest available rate. After two days I was calling the dealership for an update. Four calls went unreturned in two days and I eventually drove all the way back to the dealership to get an update.I was told at that time the campaign was “approved” and to go back to hertz to update them. I did so and a few days later (again after multiple unreturned calls) I was told the car was ready in the lot for pickup. Even after arrival I had to wait over an hour for a car that was supposedly ready. I was then given a website link to submit my rental documents for reimbursement. This turned out to be the wrong site. After finding the right one (again having to go back to the dealership because they NEVER return calls) I submitted the claim. This began the saga with Hyundai corporate of submitting, resubmitting, and submitting again the same documents over and over. At least six times the had to “update my email address”. I have two emails saying the claim was approved but still no payment. Then I was told I needed more paperwork “verifying the work was complete” from the dealership. Why the dealership didn’t and evidently couldn’t send this directly to Hyundai is a mystery. As a bonus since, again, they NEVER RETURN CALLS I drove back to the dealership to get the required paperwork. I scanned it in (twice) to Hyundai and (again) was told the claim was approved.Once again no check showed up so I started calling again only to be told (around December 20th) that “accounting wont send any more checks until January 6th”. Why was never explained. They refused to transfer me to accounting or legal. It’s now a week past the 6th and still no check. I’ve sent one more query to Hyundai and if a check isn’t here next week I’ll be sending demand letters to the dealership and Hyundai corporate.I really loved my Hyundai but they will do ANTYGHING to save a buck on warranty/recall/campaign work. There is ZERO customer support and the fact that they can’t even pay rentals out until the next fiscal year leaves me very concerned about their financial future. The supposed 100k/10yr warranty is a joke. That combined with the fact McGrath flat out lied to me makes it certain I will never ever buy another Hyundai/kia/genesis or shop anything at McGrath. I’ve already traded in the vehicle at another dealership and another brand but feel like I will be ever screwed on the money they owe.

Connor was wonderful to work with. Buying a car can be very stressful, but he made the process easy and fun. He didn't pressure me and he made sure my needs were met. He was patient and thorough! I would highly recommend him.

Honestly the guy in charge of working on my vehicle was great. He earned the extra star. McGrath is way too big and decentralized and the people taking phone calls and managing customers seemed like they had no idea what was going on. I was told when making the appt it would be 3-4 hours. Perfect that will fit into my schedule. I get there, he tells me a longer time estimate, okay maybe it'll take a little longer. I call about 4 hrs in, lady on the phone tells me they aren't answering so she will leave them a message to call me back. Hour later, no call, I show up and see my car parked in the lot? Ask and he says 45 mins. Sounds good. Hour and a half later, no call again, I call and the lady says again, they aren't answering she will leave a message and I said that didn't work last time and she just says sorry I'll make sure they get it this time. What does that mean lol so I just drive there again to ask in person. My car is in there getting worked on, and eventually we see it go through their car wash (a nice touch) in the end it took 7.5 hours. I definitely would NOT have scheduled it on that specific day if I had known it was going to take that long, instead of the 3-4 hrs I was given as an estimate. Communication would have helped a lot. Everything else was good but time and communication were my frustrations.
