On Friday, a Mediacom technician was servicing a neighboring home, and we lost Internet shortly after his departure. We promptly (well, as "promptly" as Mediacom's customer support system permits) contacted their customer service department to report the issue, and they attributed the outage to our modem and router before offering to schedule a technician for the following Saturday at the very earliest. We will have no Internet for 8 days, and I work remotely one of those days. The customer service representative had zero empathy for our situation and refused to take accountability for the error. We are completely appalled by the experience and want nothing more than to switch providers.

We had a repair person here for an entire day and all we wanted him to do was remove our landline phone service and take TiVo off two of our TV’s and leave it on 2. We ended upWith no TiVo service at all and now have another person here to try and fix what the first guy screwed up! WiFi was going in and out too!

Mediacom is not perfect, but most cable/ISP companies aren’t. I’m generally happy with their consistent service (I work from home and rely on their internet). But I have had to call in twice in the past couple weeks regarding outages. I’ve talked to the techs on the street (climbing the poles) and their on and offshore tech support and have always felt like I was treated well. But with their first line of customer service (American-based representatives) it’s hit or miss. The first time I called a couple weeks ago, the rep cold-transferred me into the tech support queue with a ten-minute wait time (I don’t mind the wait but let me know). When I called yesterday about a problem the rep didn’t understand what a ticket number was, and then finally transferred me to tech support, who took care of all my issues in 2 minutes. I have seen this before with other companies- American-based customer service reps just don’t understand what customer service means. In a time where jobs are hard to come by, it boggles my mind!

Love how they do their so called schedule maintenance. We pay for non interrupted service but they can shut it down for 7-8 hours. Leaving many with out phone to get emergency services. Life alert push buttons need phone and or Internet so that means our elderly neighbor can't get medical help if she falls or has another stroke. But it's ok and you expect the full bill to be paid even if you cause someone's death. Disgusting!

The actual internet sucks. It's always causing problems with connections. Cable TV seems to be pretty stable most of the time. Technicians are not very good at repairing things. It usually takes more than one call before anything gets halfway fixed. They never can deliver on their speeds. The whole infrastructure needs to be revamped.

Mediacom does a poor job communicating. I suspect it is partly due to having an AI dealing with incoming calls or, just as likely, they outsource their other calls. I recently spoke with somebody who said their name was Norman & 'Norman' just made things worse. Much worse. I don't think Nornan was the true name. If I screwed things up for somebody the way Norman did, I wouldn't want to admit my real name either. The technician who came to the house was very nice & tried exceptionally hard to resolve the issue. But even now, my internet is unbelievably spotty & disappointing.

Intermittent service and outages are frequent. The decent price for the speed is the only thing that saves them from a one star review as well as the speeds are exceptional....when it works.I've been really frustrated with my service for a few months now and there are no decent competitors in our area to switch internet providers.

Got my cable installed about a month ago and still waiting to have them bury the wires. I have wires laying all over my backyard. And now I have to wait again for them to come mark cause it’s only good for 2 weeks. So disappointing with this company when they used to be really good.

I'm tired of the internet going out. This is getting ridiculous. It goes out about five times a day and then I have to go through and reset all my smart devices. Mediacom needs to get their stuff together

Fraud. Deception. I was overcharged a minimum of $1500 with zero notification until my bank contacted me. Mediacom told me it was correct even though they’re the ones who recommended the service plan I was on based on my usage and claimed they would notify me if they were going to charge more than the $50 a month it was supposed to be. Horrible. They claim everything was correct even though there was zero occupancy in the home for 6 months. Unbelievable. Guess I’ll get a second job to pay my mortgage and other household payments. Thanks, Mediacom.

Internets going out minimum 5 times a day. It's not just me or my neighborhood, but across town. It's getting so bad that my friends buisness switched isps because the Internet going down at work means loss in sales. I'm switching to I'm on or heck even Comcast would be better.

Mediacom internet is the definition of RIPOFF! Their fees are beyond outrageous and their service is mediocre at best! Sadly there is no better service in Eastern Iowa, yet, so Mediacom has you by the balls and they know it! Can you say price gouging??

They are atrocious. Service is terrible. They spell your name wrong in their messages. You cannot contact their local office by phone. They hide their telephone number on the web. It as given as 515-257-7290. But it doesn't work.
