As requested by Daniel I did send an email with more details about what happened during this interaction with Shea but I never heard back. Typical. The problem is not just with Shea obviously. It's an ongoing issue with Mediacom. Their customer service reps are almost always rude, you can tell they don't want to be there, they don't even sound like they are trying to be helpful. They are just melancholic and annoyed voices on the other end of the phone who don't give a crap about if their customers have good service.

worst company ever!!!!!! equipment does not work and they cant fix it yet when you call to then cancel service i am told that k have to talk to multiple departments first.... it will take at least a week..... and....... i will be charged for them to pick up their broken equipment!!!!! what a joke!!! do yourself a favor and stay away from these criminals!!!

Mediacom internet is the definition of RIPOFF! Their fees are beyond outrageous and their service is mediocre at best! Sadly there is no better service in Eastern Iowa, yet, so Mediacom has you by the balls and they know it! Can you say price gouging??

They are atrocious. Service is terrible. They spell your name wrong in their messages. You cannot contact their local office by phone. They hide their telephone number on the web. It as given as 515-257-7290. But it doesn't work.

Service has been awful for more than 4 months ( since a December storm). Constant signal drops. High speed w 2 EeroPlus 6. Just paid $504 for electrician to hardwire PC, no change! I'm getting no where, they keep repeating same service over & over. The problem is outside, techs have replaced everything inside but won't escalate until they verify again that equipment is good inside. Time to drop MediaCom!!

In the 1.5+ decade I have had to be their customer I learned early on (from problems) that I was better off buying my own modem for reliability. In recent years they have annually bumped my cost up $5 every year. I had in those years called to see if I could be on lowest tier, and told I was. BUT, I found out from a former employee recently that I was not, and with two emails from them on bragging they gave me faster upload (and deciding that was worth another $fiver from me) I called to say it was something I did not need (I just google and email) and wanted that lowest tier. I got it, but then their system automatically assumes I rent their modem and bills $13 plus a partial of $4.19, so I had to call today and (hopefully) established that I own my modem. Instead of being able to take that off this bill cycle I have to wait until the next one. I will have to assume that I will be calling again to get corrections. Reading recent reviews do not give me confidence. Maybe I should switch to T-Mobile's internet offering, as our area (large city) has not had competitive services for years, and I am willing to support competition.

We have had mediacom for two years since moving to the area. It has been nothing but problems. The service people are absolutely incompetent and the customer service phone line always diverts to a call center in Malaysia or Singapore where the service is no better. For more than $300 a month, I expect a little bit better. Dish Network...here we come!!!!!! The one star rating is an absolute default as no stars is not possible.

Bad tv signal and internet not available half the time. Calling for a service person gets an appointment in 7 to 10 days at the earliest. they came and fixed it and it lasted one day - no internet and noisy tv signal. Called again and it will be 9 days to get a technician.

I waited 39 days for the repair of the sevice line to my home. This was because of the derecio but they use contractors and they pick and chose when they work and what jobs they want. 3 times I waited all day as I had a repairman slated to fix my cable and 3 times they never showed up. I finaly got it fixed as my neighbor had a repair slated that 39th day and we are on the same line. Have you ever been without internet, phone, and TV for over a month? People could not reach me, and insurance adjusters were trying to contact me, but they did not have my cell number. Have you ever waited for 12 hours for a confirmed appointment and the person never calls my cell, or shows up? They have the worst customer service , service is too good to call it, They have weeks long waits for simple repairs as they use private contractors. They should lose their franchise rights for the lack of any service in the best cases. And they were woefully lacking in this storm disaster.

Day 20 of Mediacom internet outage. They made an appointment to come out Aug 25th and never showed up. No call, no nothing. Then our appointment for Sept 10th was canceled and no new date or time was given. My son starts online learning tomorrow but will have to miss his classes until Mediacon can get their act together. Very frustrating because all they know is how many customers are still without but can't supply any info on when they will be in our area working. It has been 20 DAYS and we have not seen a single crew in our NW side neighborhood. I would give them zero stars if I could. They have zero customer service and zero idea of how to handle a mass outage (they are ranked as the 5th largest cable provider in the country). STOP BLOWING OFF YOUR CUSTOMERS! ANSWER THE DAMN PHONE AND COMMUNICATE WITH PEOPLE!

Mediacom is the worst internet provider I have ever had to deal with. When I got their service they tried to charge me for installation when it was a transfer and I was advised it wouldn't be needed. it took them forever to get out there, and they LIED about their prices. I specifically asked if the price I was paying is what it would stay at, since I didn't want my bill to go up 20-30 bucks a month randomly. when I called to tell them about this, and I spoke to a manger, I was told there was nothing they could do. I told them what I was specifically told about my price. But I guess since THEY told ME the WRONG information, that's my fault and I have to flip the bill. THESE ARE MALICIOS PRACTICES!! The only reason I'm not with another provider as at this time, there is no one else that can get me internet. This is a terrible company, I cannot stand them.
