I recently purchased Sherwin Williams high-end Emerald trim paint for my pre-primed doors, frames, and trim, and I am extremely disappointed with the results. After applying the paint, I noticed that it flakes right off—so easily, in fact, that I can peel it off with my fingernail.
When I brought this issue to the attention of the staff at my local Sherwin Williams store, I was told that the problem lay with my pre-primed products and that I should have used a cleaner to prep the surfaces. This was frustrating to hear, especially after I decided to try Menards door, cabinet, and trim paint on the same surfaces without any cleaning, and it adhered perfectly!
I expected that paying a premium price for Sherwin Williams would guarantee a premium product and service. Unfortunately, my experience has been quite the opposite. After spending over $1,000 on paint for my basement, I genuinely wish I could return it and opt for Menards' products instead, which not only cost significantly less but also performed better.
I hope this review helps others make an informed decision. I certainly won't be recommending Sherwin Williams after this experience.

When you buy two gallons of paint at $60/gallon, you’d think the least they could do was mix/shake it for you. We didn’t realize this until we got home and was not about to drive 30 min to have them do it. Why is it not a policy to shake EVERY can when someone buys it?!?! Especially at $60 a can!!!

I arrived shortly before closing on a Saturday and the sales associate took the time and made sure that I had the right paint and the right color, even though he had to delay closing by 10 minutes.These guys know what they are doing and they have the right tools to assist you, especially on your tougher projects. This project was to seal and help remedy a pet smell on a concrete basement closet floor.

Tried to purchase paint in the store but the sales girl said they didn't have it and I will have to drive almost 100 miles to a store that has it. I ordered it online and picked it up from the original store. Don't know if she was not telling me the truth or she isn't good at her job.
