I am sitting in the parking lot of Menards which was a closer drive for me. That means I actually drove farther to go to Home Depot. I am a pro xtra member and have spend close to $45,000 at these stores in the last 2-3 years doing home remodels and rental property. My visit today was for a total of 3 Tiger J-S-100 floor support posts which sell online for $99.98, in the store they are $109.99 being that Amazon is a click away I asked if they would price match these items. I needed three of them so a discount of $30 on a $330 purchase. Less than 10%, the cashier explained to me that wasn’t the policy but I asked to see if a manager would help me out since I have bought so much here. She got very defensive and insisted that the company can’t make these exceptions for me because then they would have to for everyone and we can’t have that if we want to keep making money and that they have a business to run. I had rebutted that I had been a very loyal Home Depot customer and this seemed like a losing business strategy being that we are in the e-commerce world. I even showed her a comparable product from Menards which was 1 mile away for $69 but I was still willing to pay more to buy the one at Home Depot if they would match it. She refused and said that it would set a dangerous precedent. I rebutted you mean like having a loyal contractor base that are willing to drive farther to your store because you took care of them? I said one more time to clarify you are worried about the company making money so you are going to let $300 walk out the door over $30. She said absolutely, so here I am instead of spending $300 at Home Depot I went to Menards and spent $210 for a spec for spec product because your manager was afraid to take care of a loyal customer. Very let down by this location, likely will still shop out of the different locations still but this was the worst experience I’ve had at a Home Depot. Weak condescending leadership and poor management. The cashier was nice though!

Well if you want something out if the cage you will probably be here all day. Gal upfront called twice and 30 minutes later I'm still just standing here. Probably could have bought a bolt cutter and gotten it before anything else.

Store had what I needed as this was the closet one to where I was at so in a way it was convenient. I asked to have some help getting a few bags mulch but the person who was in the garden center when I asked said I don't work in the department and just walked away. I couldn't find any other person other than the cashier who had a line of people in the garden center so I went inside and asked the first employee I saw and they said no problem glad to help.

Home depot Council Bluffs has a table with an employee working at it asking to fill out a card for a chance to win $200 gift card. No obligation no sales list calls or promotions according to the employee. I get a call 1.5 weeks later regarding the gift card and get disconnected. I call back and it won't take my call. I call corporate and they are clueless. I call the store and the supervisor says he will.talk to them in a.m. and call me after. He never calls. I'm assuming I won since there is no promotion or phone calls.
