I applied for a position here and was informed and educated on the passion to care for the homeless and give them a safe and warm place to stay. I am grateful to know that we have this service In our community! This will be a humbling experience for me. UPDATE: After 1 1/2 years of working for New Visions and having to majorly treat for bedbugs twice in my own home due to carrying them home with me from the shelter, I am completely aware of what the men deal with daily. With the exception of covid men were asked to leave the shelter from breakfast until dinner. My title was shelter advocate and I advocated for all. Some of the stories I cried. These guys have been through hell with trauma and illness. Many passed away during the time I was there. Yes I friended a few and help them still. Advocates are just that...unbiased and caring. Wish some of the office personnel knew that was my title. To loving for my own good.

All in all a good concept except for the organizations they partner with. There’s also a case worker Anita Hall signing men up for food assistance and buying the quest cards from them this has been reported to DHS. There’s also signing up her friends and family for food baskets they don’t qualify for. As far as the medical clinic inside I would recommend using this company as a last resort for employment and medical care. There’s a clear lack of ethics, a lot of talking about diversity but a lack of any meaningful action. There’s ALOT of gossiping within management. A very high turnover rate and lack of any real inclusion For anyone with darker skin. Management tends to consistently only promote white women. They also have questionable practices like partnering with local companies like Tyson to “treat” their employees so that they don’t go to other doctors. This a questionable since most packing companies are known to put productivity above safety and Tyson has been sued for this numerous times and since Tyson is paying the doctor’s you can guess how often patient complaints are ignored. I’ve also reported nursing assistants for taking pictures of disabled patients in exam rooms and posting them on their personal Facebook.

I was assaulted by a resident of MOHMS Place homeless shelter this Valentine's Day. Person is obviously violent towards women, but is allowed to stay at this homeless shelter free of charge & roam the streets of Council Bluffs, Iowa stalking victims.
