Backbone State Park is a beautiful and historic park, known as one of the oldest in Iowa. Beautiful winter scape. The park is very quiet, and full of wildlife. Great for a quick short hike, or a long slow trek. Dang near two different parks in one as one side of the park is cliffs and elevation changes, and the other is much more timber and around a lake walk. Dog friendly with leash!
