Gas is gas but this place has the very best fried chicken. Why can I recommend the actual chicken as opposed to the nuggets it's significantly better.

Friendly employees, awesome food would give it higher stars, but the E85 pumps has been out for like over a year don't get me wrong I love 218 field Express but it just sucks having to drive 7 miles to Charles City just to get E85

Good things first, I really like the restaurant and have had no bad experiences. A nice old school joint. Parking lot is good size and there's parking anytime any day of the week. It seems like the employees are going downhill, although there's certain people in there that are really good. But the most astonishing experience I had in December of 2023. They close at 11:00 p.m. I pulled in there at 10:54 p.m. as soon as I pulled into the fuel Island they shut the lights off, I jumped out and headed for the door and they raced over and locked the door. So I went around the front side and came flying in that door. It was 10:55 at that moment and they refused to give me diesel. I can understand if it would have been 11:00 or a few minutes after. But it was 10:55 it was the most awkwardly pathetically stupid thing I ever ran across in a truck stop. The two men, although their gender was actually a little bit hard to say for certainty, looked like the type that would have dug a hole under the fence and escaped from the state penitentiary.... so I went back out in the truck and slept in the fuel Island until they opened in the morning. Next time I hope to have different employees and better service. Whew..

Nice little truck stop! Clean bathrooms and restaurant inside. They actively use their popcorn machine & soup heaters. amazon ship locker located outside. Plenty of truck parking. Close to community park.
