I recently had my classic car break down on I-35 on my way to Oklahoma. All of the other shops I called said they could not look at my vehicle for weeks. I called Ken at Redling Repair and he had my car towed over and diagnosed the same day. He gave me a loaner car and had parts located and the car repaired the next day.Best of all, they are a bunch of really nice people who take pride in a job well done at a fair price.- - - -I just got a call from Ken making sure the car made it back to Oklahoma okay. Really great guy.

Excellent locally-owned business. Five minute drive from Ames. Friendly, professional staff. Much better service than big chain shops in Ames. I highly recommend Redling Repair. Support our local economy.

Redling Repair is an excellent automotive repair shop. They listen to you, offer you good estimate and they tell you upfront what they can and can't do and how long it will take to do the repairs. This shop was recommended to me by a friend and I wholeheartedly recommend it to others.

I had heard great things about these guys and decided to give them a try. I showed up at 3:30PM with an old farm truck that had multiple problems that needed addressing. Shortly after 8AM the next morning, they called me with what was wrong, what options I had, and let me decide the plan of what to do. (I'm a shade tree mechanic, but didn't have enough time to work on it myself.) They were very knowledgeable and very professional, and discovered the root causes of issues I hadn't been able to pin down. The prices they quoted were good, plus they knew which things that could be done cheaper IF I was OK with what "cheaper" would entail. (E.G. A top quality part vs. a used part from a salvaged vehicle) Quite impressed that they didn't try to upsell me or downsell me. They just wanted me to get what I wanted.

I went to Redling Repair to get a second opinion after receiving a hefty quote from the Ford dealership in Ames. Matt diagnosed my actual problem which wasn’t even included in the dealership estimate and performed the work for a reasonable price. Hard to find a place that backs up their claims with pictures and explains the work in great detail. They even give you options of new or like new used parts if you’re on a budget. I appreciated being greeted by name each time I walked through the door and was very happy with the quality of work performed. I will be going to Redling Repair for my vehicles from now on.

Watch out for the surprise $55 service charge to inspect the vehicle. I went to get a quote on the front U-joints that the Dodge dealership identified for free and was charged on information that I already knew. The mechanic was knowledgeable and kind. The dealership was less cost for the U-joint portion.

I've been doing business with them for 10 years. Started going to them after some dishonest experiences with Ames mechanics. Redling tells you what's really wrong, explains it in terms you can understand, and are ALWAYS pleasant. I'm sitting in their Lobby now as they save the day AGAIN as they have for so many other last minute occasions.
