Had the unfortunate event of having to take our daushund here after noticing vision issues. The vet techs were friendly and made sure to explain all the tests that were being done. The veterinarian was very thorough and reassuring through the process. The price is high, but that is expected for this level of care and specialty.

I have never been treated with so much compassion at a clinic in my life. Everyone from reception, techs, the doctor were all wonderful! I did not feel pressured or rushed, everything was explained to me very well. You can tell the people who work here truly want to help animals, this is not just a job to them. It was very expensive, but you can’t put a price on potentially getting your pet’s vision back, and they are up front about pricing, making sure you are agreeable to everything before they proceed. I feel like the testing done was probably difficult and used very pricey equipment, so of course they have high prices. They take multiple payment methods, including care credit. They are obviously quick to respond to insurance as well, my claim from yesterday’s visit has already been approved less than 24 hours after, meaning they got right back to my insurance when records were requested. We are so lucky to have such a knowledgeable doctor so close to us (I am from the Quad Cities). Thank you again for everything you have done for my dog so far!

I would not recommend this place. Our dog went in for cataract surgery and has had nothing but complications. The entire process has been nothing but deflating and devastating, and especially when your pet cannot talk, so you don't know what they think or how good they really can see afterwards. The vet kept telling us that he had inflammation when in reality one of his retinas was detached. The clinic does not respond to emails, if I could post screenshots in here with proof of my emails that had no responses, I would. There is no phone number that you can call for emergencies if they are closed, this is a major issue given the type of procedures that pets are going through! If you ask questions, vague answers are given..(“it’s a dog!”). The whole experience has been unsettling and emotional for us. Just really think through your decision before going through with any cataract surgery, if your pet is currently happy with his or her life, it may not be worth the trauma and risk. I just wish there was another vet that was skilled in this type of work around here. The clinic support team was wonderful and helpful as much as they could be, and we appreciate that, but after seeing other reviews now and our personal experience, we had to post our concerns about it.

The vets and the staff are pretty inconsiderate. Both towards the pet and us as a client. We unfortunately have had to use their survices due to the condition our dog was in. : everytime we visit them at a scheduled time, they make u wait a minimum of 1 hr.. literally!! We have even waited there over 2 hrs. When asked when we could see the doctor, a definite answer is never provided. And asked if we can come back, in an hour thats not ok wit them either...the other option providd to us was - may be u can sit in your car!!!I asked some people sitting next to me,how long they had been waiting ?? Guess what--over 3 hrs !! How ridiculous is that?!! And the staff has no answer for you but an " Oh well!!" They do not respect u as a patient or your time as a person. Never have had a friendly considerate experience with them.

It's really great to have the level of specialized vet care. The staff and doctor are very nice and take emergencies very seriously.

Extremely overpriced.I wrote the above review 3 years ago and I am still in disbelief at how overpriced this clinic is. The veterinarian is RUDE and has ZERO compassion for you and your pet. I truly would not recommend taking your pets here. Please save your time and money. Your pet is truly better off going anywhere else that isn’t here. I am not about spreading negativity and I hate to leave such a poor review but if I could give this less than one star I truly would. This clinic is only interested in your wallet and I truly believe they have no love for your pets. Your pets deserve better and this veterinarian does not deserve to be in their presence. That is all.

Office staff get five stars, but the doctor did not care well for my animal during surgery by leaving him in anesthesia too long. He also prescribed cancer causing drugs for years and promised to monitor them. Ultimately, he died a very traumatic death from an aggressive sarcoma that took over the entire left side of his head - the worst our vet has seen.

Today my dog had a consultation looking at his eyes- he is double merle and I knew his vision was impacted but wanted a clearer view and understanding if I should expect more deterioration. The history is thorough and records went seamlessly from our usual GP vet. The tech was lovely and was very kind handling my boy during exams and testing. She was fun to talk with and you can tell genuinely cared. Dr's (both resident and lead) were patient as I rewarded my dog with treats throughout the exam. Dr was very thorough in his explainations and I left with a much better understanding of my boy and a plan of action. Thank you to the team who helped us today!

i recently wrote a review for the vet that said he knows he's the only one in the area and takes advantage of that. I apologize to the doctor for saying that. When i had surgery on my dog in Des moines it was a package deal and even the rechecks were included in the price of the surgery. This vet does not do that. I do want to think their pricing is a little extreme but i signed the papers and wanted the surgery for my dog and i am happy to report my dog can see now, after cataract surgery and seems much happier. i can take him on walks again and he's playing and interacting again. i am grateful for that. Thank you Animal Eye Consultants.

After nearly 8 months of our dog struggling with an eye ulcer, we drove the 10 hrs from ND to see Dr. Grozdanic in Iowa. His care, skills, demeanor, explanation, and follow up was exceptional! We were startled to see how instantly relaxed our dog was with him- like she knew she could unconditionally trust him to fix her eye. And he did! Wonderful care! Wonderful staff- accommodating, always promptly responding to our questions. We are both healthcare providers and clearly understand why Dr. Grozdanic and his team are considered the best of the best!

The office staff gets 5 stars. They are prompt, courteous, and helpful. However, my dog developed major complications after surgery which have now left him with the same issue the vet tried to fix along with a severe ulcer that is not healed 2 months after surgery. I spent $3,100 on surgery and an extra $1,400 (vet appointments, meds, etc.) due to complications. I made multiple trips (2.5 hours each way) to Cedar Rapids. I now have a dog that is in worse shape than the initial issue the clinic attempted to fix. I'm out $4,500, hours on the road, and left with a dog in worse situation.
