Don't do business with these people. Took a chain saw in they said they worked on it charged me 157 bucks. Take it home go to make a cut and it does the exact same thing it did when I took it in. They're crooks. I'll drive 500 miles one way to get service before I'll spend another penny here.

The best outdoor equipment place in iowa. Very smart people. I love small companies they sell product and take care of warranties right in there facilitates. Corporate do not do warranty in house .save a 100 dollars at menards, home depot, walmart, good luck if you got a issue with the mower you bought .your screwed. Keep up your great work midway thank you for all you do.

Look, I really didn't get any actual service done here at Midway. But I'm giving them five stars anyway, because they are so friendly, helpful, honest and accommodating that I'm very excited to now have a place I know I can trust for ANY small engine needs I have in the future.I have a John Deere snowblower that's given me trouble over the past few years. I'm no mechanic, but I'm fairly handy and was able to replace the carburetor last year, which made starting the engine a whole lot easier... For awhile. This year I ran into more trouble, so I brought it to Midway. They were quick to look it over and give me an honest assessment that it was going to be awfully expensive to repair because of quite a few issues that were largely due to the fact that it's such an old snowblower and so much is simply worn out inside. Told me that they'd be happy to fix it for me if I really wanted to keep it running, but advised me that it's just going to keep getting more expensive to fix, because the Tecumseh engine was manufactured in the 70's (which I knew) and Tecumseh declared bankruptcy in like 2008 (which I did NOT know), so parts for this old engine would continue to get more difficult to find.So with that information, I decided to thank my John Deere for its years of service, and give it a proper burial. When I came to pick it up the old driveway-clearing veteran, the Midway employee who helped me load it back into my truck was even generous enough to offer that I consider listing it on Facebook Marketplace, as "they don't make them like this anymore," and "some collector might want it to tinker with or use it for spare parts or something." I hadn't considered this, so I appreciated the suggestion.Anyway, these friendly and helpful interactions were enough for me to keep Midway's contact info in my phone for any future small engine needs. I'm sure they'll be seeing me again!

Wow-over the top! I brought my 5+ year old Honda mower in for repair and was told the transmission needed to be replaced. After a few days checking on the status I was informed that parts were slow in arrival. A few days later the mower was repaired and cleaned up. Now it runs and looks like a new mower. Great techs and customer service personnel!

The staff here are hardworking & provide great customer service. Knowing that the owner has carried on his father's legacy with the business despite seasonal changes & short-staffing due to the pandemic; you can tell they really do care about making each customer's experience a good one. As someone who felt out of place walking into an outdoor equipment store to purchase a birthday gift for a family member, they sure didn't make me feel like an outsider that's forsure! Haha

Stopped by twice. Once on Saturday, and I got ignored, they where really busy - ok. Stopped again on Wednesday after work, looked over the snow blowers for about 10 minutes, got ignored again. Stood at the door for a minute, to show I was going to leave. They couldn't care less. The snow blower I an interested in costs $1900. You would think they would be interested in my business. They must have enough.

After the derecho I brought my Stihl 026 cause I had to prime it to start. They rebuilt the carb they said and replaced a fuel line, charged me $160. Brought it home still had to prime it. I had a lot of work to do with the trees and limbs down. I primed it and went to work then went on to many other things I had to do after that storm. I put the saw back in the case and forgot about it until lately I needed to use it again, after that I brought it back and told them my story. I was told well your way past the 45 days. I brought it to Butch at Ace hardware in Mt Vernon, he had it 2 days put a new carb on it and now it runs like new again for $ 108. Midway will let it sit for weeks until they look at it

**Edited to a 3-star review. Thank you to the team for getting my mower completed fixed eventually. Wish it wouldn't have taken multiple trips over months, but really appreciate them doing right by me**Not a place I can recommend after my experience. 1. Fixed things I had already replaced on the mower without addressing the real problem. I believe they fixed it the 2nd time I brought it in (TBD) and made me pay for all the parts involved but if they would have realized from the beginning that the carb needed to be replaced it wouldn't have been as expensive as it was. 2. Said it was done and I came in to pick it up only to find out it wasn't done yet.I was recommended to come here and I never post negative reviews, but I can't recommend this place to anyone after my experience. Hope the mower works!

Top notch service. Friendly and courteous staff. When I took my chainsaw to them they did a quick 10 minute checkout to eliminate anything obvious before they had to check it in. They had me fixed and running again in about a week.
