Great place to hike around in the trees on the loess hills/ bluffs, also nice lodge, and lookout tower. Basically like walking on old giant sand dunes of fine dirt that has been blown in from the Missouri river valley so long ago they now have trees. Apparently these hills and the ones in China are the biggest of their kind. They also got this amazingly long boardwalk that goes down one hill so you got somebody in a wheelchair or walker you're good to go.

Great trails that have tough terrain that has steep climbs. I attempted the Hitchcock 100, but an injury causes me to withdraw. The race was not very well set up: 3 aid stations along a 16.7 mile course. Their supplies were probably the worst ive experienced for being a 100 mile race with nothing hot, you have to wait for a sandwich to be made.

Excellent park for great views of the Loess Hills and hiking. Not all the trails are great if it is muddy, but there are many paved areas to walk and an elevated wooden walkway. Nice restrooms, nice covered areas with atleast one having a fireplace.I am not aware of a place to buy supplies or food here, but Crescent has a newer big Casey's gas station and several restaurants 5 miles away on a nice paved highway.

The best place to hike close to Omaha. We did the Legacy loop yesterday, but love Heritage trail as well. The daily rate is $5. Paid at the entrance. Cash only.
