My husband and myself came from Canton, Illinois. He had to have a difficult procedure performed at the University Iowa Health Care Hospital. We came to Iowa the night before his surgery. When we got to the hospital the next morning, our car died pulling into the parking lot! Here we were 150 miles from home and our car wouldn't start! My husband's surgery started at 7am. It was left up to me to find out about our car. I came across Hanson Automotive. They had good reviews and was fairly close to the hospital. I took a chance and called the business.
The man that answered the phone was so understanding! He told me that he would contact a towing company for me to get our car towed to him. It wasn't 10 minutes later, the towing company called me and said that they would be there asap! Mr Hanson called me back to make sure that i was contacted by the towing company. The towing company came and got our car, they took it to HANSON AUTOMOTIVE INC. He called me 3 hours later, first he asked about my husband, then our car. He told us that it was the serpentine belt and the battery. He wanted to make sure that it wasn't something else that caused the serpentine belt to malfunction, before he gave the car back to us.
He called later that day and said that he was confident that it was fixed and ready to make the 150 mile trip back home. I told him that we weren't going to be discharged until 2 days later. He said not to worry. The next day I began trying to figure out a way to get our car. He said not to worry, he then told me that he would pick me up asap and bring me to our car. He did just that!
We arrived at his place of business, once again he explained what had happened with the car and how the billing system was set up. I paid the bill, which by the way was extremely reasonable! Being a woman who knows nothing about cars, he could of taken total advantage of me when it came time to pay the bill. He didn't! I would highly recommend this business to anyone! Mr Hanson, you are the best! Thank you for being so thoughtful, nice, sincere and honest!

Great team, they put a new rear bumper on my rusty old truck. Helpful advice too, getting a few more years of service from her. My former mechanic retired, looks like I found another trusty shop now!

I came in because I cracked my front emblem of my car and wanted to get a quote to get it fixed. I can't remember the exact quote, but I think it was somewhere between $1,000 to $2,000. I was able to fix it myself for under $60 dollars. I don't appreciate being over charged for work that most likely didn't need to be done. I would NEVER recommend your shop to anyone because you clearly don't care about customers, you only care about making money. Truly disappointed.

Jim, the technicians, and the front office staff are all good people. Pricing is fair and often beats estimates from other auto repair shops. I have had auto body work done here, it was done professionally, and they handled all the insurance work.

This place was referred to me by my insurance when I needed a dent fixed, and I'm so glad it was! Everyone I spoke to was so nice and helpful. I wasn't expecting my car to get done so quickly since it was around the holidays, but it was done within just a few days and they were nice enough to buff out some paint from a previous incident. Craig and his team are so great, if anything else goes wrong with my car, this is definitely where I'll go.

Love my new Goodyear Assurance ComfortDrive on a 2018 Ford Escape Titanium!!! Have them on a 2014 Honda CRV as well. They give the smoothest ride possible. Thanks to Jim and the crew. They provide exceptional service!!!

Hanson did an outstanding repair of my Audi SQ5 from hail damage. They worked very well with the insurance company and they were very helpful in providing transportation during the repair. Jim's work is amazing and he has the perfect combination of high tech strategies and artwork. It almost feels like I traded up on a new vehicle.

Jim and his team are incredible. They are reliable and personable. Would recommend to anyone. He ordered us a brand new bumper, painted it himself in their new paint booth and had it on in no time. Months later when a part of the bumper popped off he fixed it free of charge. Good people.

What a great business. My husband and I had a problem with our car on our way to Iowa City. We stopped here to see if they could help-- or suggest someone who could. They took care of us immediately (we were from out of state) I can't express just how grateful I am to them for their help. They have excellent service and are so friendly and honest.
