I've been to bad mechanics in Iowa City, and I've been to good ones. Iowa City Tire is squarely one of the good ones. The customer service is unrivaled, they're honest about pricing, and are quick to ask you questions/let you know if something pops up that you weren't expecting in their car. I wouldn't go anywhere else. (It doesn't hurt that they have free cookies and beer too.)

I went in for general checkup, they were extremely nice and told me straight up what’s wrong. Gave me different options and were extremely reasonable with everything. Will be back for general checkups and oil changes. Highly recommend

On two separate occasions, with different daughters, these folks went beyond the normal service to assure me that my daughters were in good hands. Both times I was hours away, and couldn't just be the dad that swoops in and saves the day...but this shop can and does. Thank you so very much for your care and consideration...particularly with college students.

My check engine light started blinking about a mile out on I80. I called around and these guys were the only ones that could get me in same day. They gave me 2 free drink chips for the brewery down the road and recommended a beautiful trail I could walk my dog on while we waited. Two hours later the called, said they did a diagnostic but couldn't pinpoint exactly what was going wrong. When I went to pay the quoted $70 I was told it was no charge. Amazing service! Thank you for helping me out in a time of need and making it a pleasant experience for me.

We bring our vehicles here for oil changes and would for tires if we need them. All the staff is very friendly, and they are also friendly to women. They are very accommodating and do great work.

This is the ONLY place I can take my car to and not worry about getting taken advantage of. The workers are all very upfront, honest, fair, and kind. I won't bother taking my car anywhere else!

The atmosphere is very family-oriented, and the service is excellent with flexible scheduling. I experienced genuine and positive vibes here. The service was also transparent. As a first-time visitor, I felt incredibly welcomed, as if I could stop by anytime and receive the same warm reception. I only had a tire repair less than $100 and still felt like this so that tells me they're just good people.

I highly recommend IC tire. My truck was having a reoccurring issue over a two week span, and they were EXTREMELY helpful and fantastic to work with.
Additionally, as a young woman, I don’t always feel entirely comfortable at auto shops — the guys at IC tire were all amazing and I didn’t feel uncomfortable or out of place there a single time (and I spent a good amount of time talking to them and hanging out in their lounge) which is definitely important to me. I greatly appreciate all they did for me!
