“I have been a patient at Towncrest Apothecary since they opened. In those years, the staff has helped me with numerous things. They fill a compounded medication for me. Aaron has recommended over the counter medications that have improved my health. Notably, I take Tumeric which has vastly improved my gastrointestinal system; I can eat foods that I have never tolerated before. Aaron also has advised me on the most effective calcium to take for osteoporosis.
I have tried other OTCs with varying degrees of success. All products that the apothecary sells are fully guaranteed. If something doesn't work for me, I return it and the full cost is refunded. If one OTC doesn't work, Aaron tries another one. If it doesn't work, my money is returned.
The best thing about the apothecary is the consultation. Aaron and the other pharmacists know me and are very generous with their time in answering my questions. My best example is the process I am currently undertaking to get off Aprazolam (generic for Xanax). A doctor prescribed it years ago for sleeping. I have wanted to stop taking it as I have learned about the negative side effects. Aaron has educated me over the past few months about how to taper off the medication and the side effects of doing so. I began taking half a dose in June and have continued to taper off by half until now (early December). I should be completely off the medication by the end of December. The side effects have been challenging at times, but with Aaron, Austin, and Matt's advice and encouragement I am making good progress. I could not have done this without the education and support of these knowledgeable, compassionate pharmacists. I am grateful to have found them and Towncrest Apothecary.”

“During COVID they were under-staffed and over-loaded. For whatever reason (I think because there was a lack of Pharmacy students to fill the lower-tier positions), this situation lasted until long after most businesses had recovered.
But they *have* recovered! Back to being speedy, reliable, convenient, and informative. They were great for about a decade, then COVID, and now back to being great.
Hyvee on a bad day is better than Walgreens or CVS on a good day.”

“I frequently use this Walgreens store for my pharmaceutical needs. I sometimes go inside and other times, I use their 24 hr Pharmacy Drive-Thru. I have always been very satisfied with this Walgreens and their service as well as their wide selection of merchandise inside their store. This time, I went inside the store to wait in line at the pharmacy, to pickup my medicine. I used the restroom and it was average. The store was very clean. The pharmacist that helped me was a very kind and knowledgeable gentleman. Overall, great experience!”

“Walgreens is a good drugstore with a wide variety of goods ranging from prescription and otc medications, personal care products, food and drink, office supplies, baby supplies, toys, cards and gift wrap, clothing, and more. I have ordered from the walgreens photo counter several times and have been very pleased with the experience, it was fast, simple, and I got great quality pictures. Walgreens has struggled to keep their baby formula in stock amidst this shortage, with bare shelves every time I visit. Walgreens is a bit overpriced in my opinion, but not enough to stop me from going there. Walgreens is always clean but there is usually a wait to check out with only 2 registers at the front. They have recently added new shelving and coolers around the cash registers with tons of last minute grabs.”
“I came in to print out photos for my dad’s celebration of life, I was a complete grieving mess. My brain was not functioning and I had no idea what I was doing at the photo kiosk. The shift lead (I assume) took his time walking me through everything on the kiosk and was extremely understanding of what a mess I was, and the mistake I was making at the kiosk. In the end I was surprised to find out that he had paid for my photos! The man on register was also very kind and sympathetic. I can’t speak for anyone else at that Walgreens but those two really went above and beyond with me.”
