Historic coffee shop inside North Hall on the U of Iowa campus in Iowa City. This is the actual place where Bill Sackter worked. His life story was the subject of two movies starring Mickey Rooney and more recently a documentary film. Bill died in 1983 but his spirit lives on here. Coffee, snacks, soups and more. Open weekdays.
Wild Bill's, 321 North Hall, is a learning lab and meeting space in the School of Social Work at the University of Iowa. Formerly a coffee shop operated by community members with disabilities, this learning space is focused on social justice and advocacy on behalf of marginalized communities, including but not limited to people with disabilities, AAPI and BIPOC community members, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. The workshop is available for use as a meeting room, workspace, or event space for other groups working to advance social justice.
