Sadly they have made some lobby changes recently that are member unfriendly. The kiosk concept they have embraced is terrible in a primarily relationship business. (They must have contracted a fast food consultant.) They have isolated and alienated their in person customers. Watching the "tellers" trying to get a member that just wants to do a simple task to use their remotes would be laughable if it wasn't so sad. What about having to yell your requests at a monitor in the middle of an open public space says privacy or security? And don't try to deposit actual cash, you know bills and coins. If it is "too much" they'll refuse and if you complain they'll direct you to go to a casino, as they did me. What? There are many other CU options out there. I'm taking my business elsewhere.

My Name is Eric South and I have a loan at this credit union, and I have autopay every other week, I was half a payment ahead and went to the Ankeny branch to stop the next autopay. I have done this several time over the life of the loan, with no issues. this time the was autopay debited from my account, because of this I was over drawn. This credit union claims that I did not follow procedures and that it is not their error. They have an option to delay a pay which costs $25.00. this is not what I did and now that I am overdraft this credit union is refusing to reimbue the full amount only the overdraft fee. Buyer beware. I will be looking for a new place to move my loan.\n

My parents recently moved to Urbandale and needed to open an account and a safe deposit box. I called several banks/credit unions and found the large boxes were quite scarce. On this preliminary call I found there was one at Community. The young lady I spoke to was kind enough to hold it for one hour, giving us a chance to get there to secure it.The computers were a bit uncooperative that day, but no fault of the staff. We are always treated respectfully when visiting and I would highly recommend.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE! Community Choice Credit Union has a new policy that they implemented 2 days ago which allows them to put a 5 day hold on your deposits. Apparently this is written in their policies and procedures that they are not required to notify customers in writing. I guess it's okay that they tell you this at the window or the drive up. I've had a checking account and savings account with them for 8 years. I will be moving my account today.

Most locations have poor employees who treat customers very poorly. Some employees will sit there and choose favorites (watched it happen and happened to me) they will sit there and belittle you too.

The branch manager here solved an issue I had no luck resolving sooner. Her ability to resolve the problem and communicate effectively made the entire experience of doing business with CCCU an overall worthwhile and recommendable experience. Thank you, Susi for your hard work and customer oriented service.

I have never banked with Community Choice as far as bank accounts- but with my experience with a Royal Flooring credit card that is through Community Choice, I never will. Apparently, they switched their credit card service provider and made it so there was literally no way to pay it unless you send in a check. Which was new- we paid it online before. I tried to call to pay it over the phone and the system sends you in circles. The first number you call tells you to call a different phone number and that phone number tells you to call the first phone number. We finally talked to an operator who just sent us over to the original message to call a different phone number. Called back to talk to another operator who ended up not helping us because they somehow have my husband’s birthdate wrong. She wouldn’t help or believe us that it was wrong, even though we were trying to PAY A BILL- not asking for info or trying to get money. We finally went into the Johnston branch of Community Choice and lucked out that Taymon was there to walk my husband through what needed to be done. Apparently, this is an on going issue they have with the service provider for the credit card. He asked for everything that happened because they keep having so many people come in with issues. ??♀️ Our payment was late because of their mistake. We paid the card payment in the bank that day (Saturday), the money came out of our checking account, but according to the app we had to download to be able to pay the bills, it has not posted to our account by today (Tuesday). Doesn’t show as pending even. So I called back today, and apparently “that’s just how their system works since they changed providers.” They are saying it’s always at least a few days behind all the time. Like it shows that you still owe the minimum payment and the payment you made isn’t even pending, even though it’s come out of your account. In 2022, there isn’t better systems to be able to make payments? And they blame the service provider every time you talk to them, but don’t they choose their service provider?? We will never bank with this place after this experience and all the run around.**Update: Payment still hasn’t posted but we have no one to call to see where the money we paid (and came out of our checking account) went because the phone number for the card processor sends me back to Community Choice but Community Choice can’t see anything being processed because they aren’t the card processor. There’s literally no one to help.

Boyfriend tried making an account. Told him he had to pay off 1 charged off item to make the account. He did so and showed them the receipt. Said they couldn’t do anything, waste of our time and $. Thanks but no thanks Josh Waddle
