Beware. I heard a rumor that one of the employees at American was telling her friends (not bank employees) how much money I had in my account, what I was spending my money on, and how much my paychecks were. Of course when I heard this, I was very concerned, so I called them and ask that an audit be done on my account to see if this employee was accessing my account when she should not be. And of course, they discovered that she was accessing it without authorization to do so. She was never my teller and should have zero reason to be looking at my account. Thus, confirming the 'rumor' of her telling her friends about my account information. I then found out that she had been in trouble for this before. I asked the bank what their policy was for employees discussing bank account information outside of work, with people that do not work for the bank. They would not tell me the policy, but told me they would 'talk to the employee'. Well I was able to confirm the person still works at the bank at this time, and to me, that is unacceptable. How would you like someone you have no contact with telling anyone she wants about how much you make, how much you have in your account, where you spend your money, and places you are going? Very stalkerish to me, and extremely unprofessional. I couldn't imagine employing someone after knowing they are willing to give out your customers information with no regard to privacy. I am obviously switching banks and recommending to everyone that asks to stay away from American Bank and they seem to care less about customer privacy. I debated a long time about writing this, but honestly, I think it should be known that American Bank thinks its ok for employees to do this type of thing. And for anyone wondering, the employee in question is Katie Draayer. So if you have ever come in contact with her for any banking reason, I would, at minimum call the bank and put a block on your account so no one can access it but you and the VP of the bank. I hope this helps someone make an educated decision on their banking needs.

The best bank to work with personally or on the commercial side. Rewards checking, great rates on mortgages and friendly service. Enough said.

In the past I have found this app to be very beneficial for checking account balances and making quick transfers, etc. I am expecting more from the improved app. I have had trouble locating the app in Android's App Play store. Hint: search for American Bank NA and you'll come up with it much faster. That should be in their literature, and maybe it is somewhere, but I wasn't able to find it quickly. Keep up the good work!

I switched to American Bank when I began a family, due to their competitive rates. I have been quite happy with the service I have received over the years. As any long term relationship will ultimately encounter growing pains along the way, I have always felt welcome to promptly address my concerns with the appropriate parties. In so doing, I have always been met with courteous and respectful response. I appreciate the small-town atmosphere with the big-future mentality. Thank you American Bank, for helping me care for my family and grow my business!

American Bank has always had outstanding customer service. They are always trying to accommodate to everyone's needs and are constantly creating new ways to reach out to the community. It's small town customer service. I have lived on the East Coast for the past 10 years yet still do my banking back home. It's just as convenient (if not more so) than any of the corporate banks in the big cities. I always enjoy doing my banking in person when I go back to Le Mars. Often, there are new faces, however, they always the time to get to know me and treat me like an old friend. Small town customer service = top notch.

I posted this but it didn't show up so I will do it here. I closed my accounts with you today and when I did the teller said I had to give a reason for closing them. I didn't want to but she said I had to. First how could I give my reason in just a 2 inch space? The reason I am closing is because back in January my debit card was cracking and I didn't want to be without it so I called and asked for a new one. The lady said that I would be charged a small fee for it and that t
