I've never had any problems with Hy-Vee East pharmacy until today. Unfortunately, I'm changing my 5 star review to a one star due to the poor customer service I received.The drive thru is always closed at Hy-Vee East pharmacy. For convenience, I called to have an Rx sent to the location across from the hospital. The man who answered at Hy-Vee East was short with me but said he'd take care of it.The next day I got a text alert that the Rx was filled. I went to the pharmacy across from the hospital, and it wasn't there. I checked the phone number in the text -- it was the Hy-Vee East number. When I called East to get it straightened out, the same man answered the phone. When I explained the situation, he acted put out. His tone became snappy, and he was downright rude when I said I didn't understand the last part of what he said and asked him to repeat it. "What do you mean you don't understand what I said?!" Well, I got snappy back at him."Friendly smile in every aisle"? This guy didn't get the memo apparently.I'm done with Hy-Vee East pharmacy. The star is for the two sweet ladies who assisted me at the pharmacy across from the hospital.

Most of the time the service is very good and people who work the front are helpful and nice. I was surprised the other day when they mistakenly refilled the wrong prescriptions and did not refill two prescriptions that I needed. Mistakes happen , I get that .. but would have appreciated an apology as this meant an extra trip back.

I got both doses of my Covid vaccine here and each time, the person administering the shot and the other pharmacist as well were so nice. I was nervous about getting a shot and they put me at ease. Highly recommend!

I scheduled to have my Covid vaccine administered here, but their website did not state that those who have had a flu vaccine within the past 14 days would not be eligible. Even though she could not administer the vaccine, the pharmacist that worked with me could have shown some compassion. As someone with pre-existing health conditions, I was happy to find an opening for the vaccine. However, the pharmacist honestly made me feel like crap for something I was not aware of and could not assist me with rescheduling; I just have to go back online and hope I find another appointment. I go to Hy-Vee for my medication refills, but this entire experience is making me rethink ever using their pharmacy again.

Whatever you do, don't use the shopping service!!!! In this Covid environment, I decided to order some groceries. I have now called them THREE times because they can't get it right. First, I got green beans instead of yellow squash. I had specifically said no substitutions. Turns out they had the yellow squash anyway. Then, I didn't get my kitty litter. So they delivered the yellow squash and a SMALL jug of kitty litter instead of the two large jugs I had ordered. When I called again about the litter, the boy said they were probably out of the large jugs. At that point, I just gave up. Now I go to use what litter I got and it's not even the lightweight, like I had ordered!!! Totally worthless!

A member of the pharmacy staff repeatedly gave directions to an assistant to relay to me even though I was standing perhaps 10 ft away, well within hearing. Extremely rude.

Placed an order with Scott on 4/17/2020. Not only was he helpful and efficient but also kind. We talked briefly about recognizing healthcare workers at this challenging time. After I got off the phone, I got to thinking, well Scott and his staff are carrying on for us, so many thanks to them as well.

Josh, in Online Ordering, provided excellent customer service today. I reside in Texas and used the online ordering option to order and deliver groceries to my mother who still resides in Mason City. Thank you Hy-Vee for this optional service. As soon as I completed my transaction, I realized that I needed to add one item, vitamins. I contacted the store as I did not see an immediate edit option on my order confirmation and Josh took note of the item and my order # to attempt to add to my order and adjust accordingly for tomorrow’s delivery. Josh was very professional, courteous, and I could ‘hear his smile’ through the phone. Virtual
