The way they offer help but can't actually help you at all. Why are these teenagers seemingly running around with no manager? I feel like I am doing their job half. Definitely need more training in being resourceful.

Surprisingly, they almost always have what I need. The employees are very friendly, and very helpful. The store is clean and organized well. I appreciate their inventory, as they're availability of diverse products prevents me from having to drive to a larger city.

Nevada Hardware is a great local shop. I'm there often picking up odds and ends and they are always very helpful. Today I purchased a new snowblower. I beat mine to death in the big first snow of 2024. I didn't need it today and could have gone to a box store in Ames or Des Moines and maybe saved money...but if I do that then what happens when Nevada Hardware decides they can't compete with big box? Then they won't be here when I do need something local...
Shop local when you can, it matters.

Usually it is cheaper to just drive to Ames to purchase any one item due to the high markup of a small town
