My mom’s account was defrauded several times in the course of a month. The last time, the bank found against her and took the money out of her account and also accused her of committing the fraud herself. My mom was a loyal customer of over 40 years. We’ve had to get the police involved. Your money is not safe here. Do not bank here.Update: The bank responded, below, to my review in what looks like a professional manner, but the reason I posted this review in the first place is that they did not act professionally--they literally accused her of fraud, and told her there was nothing she could do about her case being closed, and then was told if she changed banks she would still have to "pay back" the nearly $2,000 the bank has now taken out of her account (??). If they had acted professionally in the first place, we wouldn't be here. Instead, they treated my mom like a criminal, and continue to treat her like one, insisting that her case cannot be reopened, but giving no reason why. Again: do not bank here. Your money is not safe here.

I've been a loyal customer of this place for 7+ years and was ridiculed by a staff named Aubrey or Audrey from the NL financial center the other day. She called to remind me pay off my credit card, but started off with a "this call will be recorded for quality.." when I am busy working during my work hours, just for a $25 payment. When I told her as a form of feedback, that she should ask the customer if it's okay to talk right now, she talks back "then you should have stated it yourself." What kind of customer service is this? You better get your acts right GSCU, I've been using you guys since the UICCU. Your employees were better in quality years before than nowadays, better take care of your customer service education act correctly before all leaves.

This credit union needs help with their online banking and support. Their app is by far the least intuitive and hardest to use app in banking. I overpaid on a credit card because you can’t see scheduled payments. Tried to get on the phone with someone and was on hold for so long and requested a call back and never got one so I went online and was able to get help. I won’t be opening any other cards here until their app is fixed. Hire someone asap to redesign.

I have had accounts with Green State Credit Union ever since they came to Central Iowa. I was living from check to check for most of that time. I've used 3 of their branches and always treated well, especially at the Altoona branch.

If I could give a negative score I would! Worse bank ever and the worst CEO and Aaron that sits below him. I had a theft of my card that had not been activated for a year! I contacted them as soon as I noticed charges and overdraft! They told me aorry nothing we can do! I had to pay the amount back and they still charged me the overdraft fees! I asked for proof that I even agreed to overdraft protection and no one was able nor have yet sent me such documentation! Once the account was paid they closed it and then reported it to my credit report as a loan charge off zero balance! I will continue to go up the ladder and file complaints with the state and federal CCUboards ! I have also disputed it with all three credit bureaus! This is not ok!

GreenState Credit Union is awful. I have tried to pay my auto loan bill for over a week now but, I forgot my account number. I can’t log in to pay it, the app is more complicated to navigate then anything I’ve ever seen and if you call them, prepare to be on hold for hours until eventually somebody answers and apologizes because they can’t help. I’ve had the money in my account to pay my loan for almost a month now and still haven’t been able to pay it because it’s so stressful and difficult to actually pay them. Now my account is past due and honestly, it’s not even my fault. If this account gets closed I’m going to sue. Ridiculous. Just absolutely ridiculous.

Do not bank here. In one years time I've been subject to fees, errors and hits on my credit. I set up automatic payments. It didn't work for whatever reason on their side and when I went in to confront them, THEY determined it was THEIR ERROR. Guess who still has a late payments on his credit report. In addition to that they struggle with record keeping. I have physically gone in to provide insurance documents (cards and declaration) with zero lapse in coverage, yet due to error (can't prove it was theirs but I'm thinking it likely was, my insurance agent claimed they frequently have issues with Greenstate) I was charged their insurance. Since I went in last to contest this they have conceded to refund just over half of that 3k addition to my loan. Why not the entire amount when proof has been provided? Good damn question. So, recap... extra fees, taxes and a nice little ding to my excellent credit rating almost entirely this organizations fault yet they hide behind bureaucracy to drag things out as long as possible to ultimately tax me with interests and fees. I have reported these issues to the BBB and look forward to clearing it up. Once that's done I'll be taking my business elsewhere and hopefully you read this and think to do the same. In My entire adult life I haven't had 1% of these issues with any other bank or credit union.

They used to be a good institution. They have gotten too big and have forgotten their roots. May as well bank with a national bank. Customer service is terrible. Very long menus you have to listen to and then very long hold times. 45 min to an hour is not a stretch and actually normal. And don't get me started on their hold music. Enough to drive you insane. When my home equity loan ends, I am out.

Worst bank in the area. Scammers were able to go through their system and stole our money by charging $14.95 for several months. As our business dealt with different companies and 1000 of transactions going on, it was difficult to detect and finally we caught them and informed Greenstate agents. We were surprised when they told us that we are responsible to detect scammers and within 48h, if we don’t file a dispute, they couldn’t reimburse us and denied the reimbursement. In addition, they gave us no guarantee for our money deposited in the bank after discussion with Brian. We just want you to be aware. Our business is moving this year things to other safe banks in the area. We warn you but you can continue with them until it happens to you!

Their online account payment system doesn't offer anyway to make principal payment for our car loan. Sure, they had the lowest interest rate when I refinance my car loan with them, but with no options to make principal payment, you'll have to pay out the loan in it's full term. You can make a principal payment, if you call them after you make your extra payment, but WHY do I need to do this? This is such an easy feature to implement. If I had access to their code, I can hire a couple of developers from India to add this feature within a month. Just stay away from this Credit Union, unless you like to payout the full term of your loan, which makes no financial sense, or you like to wait on hold with a phone call to their call center. Get a loan from a company that offers principal payments, even if you are 1/2 point or more on the Interest rate.

Worst website ever. I have to save my credentials on my computer for you to allow me to reset my own password? What kind of garbage is that, nobody else does anything that d**** If i clear my cache then I can't reset my password without calling in to the bank. So I call in and it takes 50 minutes and transferred 15 times to people who had no idea what they were talking about and couldn't help me (hence transferring me again and again). Finally had to drive in because nobody could help me change a freaking password. Your customer service is pitiful and ill be taking my money elsewhere. Personally I've never had anything like this problem at Linn Area Credit union. They are what you should strive to be like for customer service.

They bought my mortgage and took over Oxford bank . They have incorrect information. They show I have not made a payment for two months but I have proof of cashed checks and that the payments have been more than the amount due. They have no way for anyone working to get a hold of them to take care of issues. Avoid them at all costs.

Sarah Hughes with GreenState Credit Union is a mortgage loan officer you can trust. Sarah is a knowledgable mortgage loan officer staying on top of the local real estate market. Sarah Hughes always responds to texts, emails or phone calls in a timely manner. She doesn't understand "bankers hours", answering questions and helping in the evenings or on weekends. Whenever I have a client who is looking for a mortgage loan officer that is attentive, trustworthy and patient I introduce them to Sarah Hughes with GreenState Credit Union and I know that they are in good hands.

Terrible credit union! Currently have a car loan through them and I blame it on the postal service, but I received what looked like a 'final notice' to provide proof of insurance on the loan about two months after the initial purchase. Which I had from the moment I purchased the car. So I sent that to them and they replied a week or so later with another letter stating it needed to have the lien holder added to the policy which I did right when I saw that notice. Fast forward another month and they feel I owe them for coverage on the car during the 3 months they feel collision wasn't added despite having documents, and recorded conversations with my insurance company confirming coverage. $6000 for 3 months of coverage for a vehicle that was purchased as an investment, had the coverage on it, and stored (not being used). They (and the supervisors from allied) continue to give me the run around with nothing but attitudes and dead end solutions completed with an extra $600 a month added to my auto policy for the coverage they feel I didn't have. I have notes and proof of everything but they won't budge. Not even willing to work with me on a less outrageous rate. I don't even pay $2000 for 6 month's worth of coverage on all (7) of my vehicles combined.. Let alone $2000 a month for a single vehicle. The worst experience with an auto loan in my 30+ loans over the last decade. Never would I do business with them again. Would rather lose the car.Edit: I wish I saw these other Google, Yelp, Etc. reviews before agreeing to them as the lien holder. Seems like I am not the only one with this type of issue.
