“In August 2025, we visited the Midwest Leather & Fudge store at the Amana Colonies in Amana, Iowa. The Midwest Leather store has many colorful and clever leather merchandise displays. The quality of the leather products is exceptional. The Amana Colonies are a collection of 7 Colonies of German Heritage in Central Iowa, and they are not Amish. The Midwest Leather & Fudge store was fun to visit and browse through the leather products. Besides the Midwest Leather & Fudge store, there are also many quaint shops and buildings, and they are all clean and well-maintained. Apparently, the Amana Colonies draws the highest number of visitors of any tourist attraction in Iowa. We greatly enjoyed visiting the Midwest Leather & Fudge store, which is part of the Amana Colonies.”
“Loved this place, and this from a guy that hates most shopping. Lots of nice, locally made gifts and cute things. Very friendly member of the co-op was on duty, provided helpful and brief (non-over bearing) background. Store was organized in part into holiday sections (e.g. Halloween room, spring room, etc.) which is clever. Nice things with a refreshingly modest price. My wife was shocked to see me enjoy looking around in a shop. See this place!”
“We love stopping by as we travel I-80 to visit family and friends. Renee is a wonderful host and the shop offers so many creative and home crafted gifts. We also enjoy their variety of sweet wines from the Village Winery of Amana.”

“Our favorite shop on the strip. So many fun, unique things. Great place to shop for gifts! Lots of Christmas decor, candles, lotion, coffee beans, etc. Can’t wait to come back!!”
“What a great spot! The barn is loaded with a combination of antiques, unique finds and new desirable trinkets. If it's open, get out and stretch your legs and take home a fond reminder of your travels through Iowa! The owners are so kind and very friendly...tell them we said hello from Texas??”
“Oh my. This is a must go to. The owner was such a pleasure to chat with. We were traveling and this place was recommended by the camp store gals where we were staying for a couple of nights. I am thrilled we went. Great products. The “back room” was a hoot to say the least. The hubs and I chuckled at nearly 99% of everything in there. He also offered recommendations of places for us to see before we head out on our destination. If we ever return to this area ~ we will definitely be back.
You’re missing out if you don’t stop in.”
