Nice place. I've attended a few weddings here over the years and it was a good experience.

This is by far the best place to stay if your visiting the area. You will enjoy the country life in an adorable little log cabin atmosphere. The owners are two of the nicest people you will ever hope to meet. Linda makes the best country breakfast ever!! Spent 5 nights with them and so enjoyed or stay. We will be back in the future for sure!!

Over the past 10 years, I have stayed here at least 7 times for several days each time. Lee and Linda are great hosts, and Linda can cook anything and everything! The accommodations are very adequate and the rooms are always clean.

Food was ok. Staff was rude and mean to my kids under 2.

We visited halter wood farms for Thanksgiving. It was terrible. Don't bother. The food was marginal at best and the service was worse. It was expensive. I would rather have had McDonalds.

Cancelled our overnite reservation for no apparent reason. Try Camp Bean near Albert City instead.

If you live in Iowa or will be traveling there and are looking for a unique dinining experience put Halderwood Farms at the top of your list. You wll have the pleasure of dining in a fully-restored Century Farm barn that has been in the Halder family for over three generations. You will need to make a reservation but your party can be as big as 400 people. Owners Linda and Lee Halder will tailor your meal from their varied and plentiful list of menu selections. Recently my high school graduating class held its 25-year reunion at Halderwood Farms and couldn't have been happier. We were able to hold a welcome reception on the barn's second floor before retreating back to the main floor for a catered-sitdown dinner. The portions are big so bring your appetite. Good luck saving room for dessert. If you're looking for a place to hold a wedding receptions, business meeting, family reunion, party, bus tour, and group get-together you must checkout Halderwood Farms. Special note: Halderwood Farms also features a four-room bed-and-breakfast in case your in need of lodging while visiting the area.
