“Growing up with my dad who had been in the Navy during WWII....he always asked my mom to make dried beef on toast which I believe was fondly referred to as "_hit on a shingle (SoS)". I still have a craving for this a couple times a year. Vandal's Family Grocery in Blooming Prairie, MN had "Smoked Beef Rounds" in their cooler ...and I thought it looked good. Just got through w our first meal of "SoS" ...and both my husband and myself said it was the best smoked (dried) beef we had ever eaten! Hope Vandal's continues to carry this and other meat products from Polasheks!!”
